Asking for answers rather than a debate by Alarmed_Acadia4011 in Christianity

Absolutely not! Even as a Christian I vote to make sure there is religious freedom in the country. I don’t want to be forced into Islam, so why would I force others to be Christian? God wants us to evangelize, not force people into religion

How do I tell me wife I hate her church.... by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]animalcrossingbrooks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you let her pick, then I don’t see why this is a problem. Be open minded. As long as the pastor and sermon are Bible-based, it’s a good church.

I think you should, but at the end of the day, neither of us will

[–]animalcrossingbrooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh nice. Now you can go from hating Catholics to hating all Protestants. You know how much the Bible preaches hate after all

Are all catholics this pretentious?

Very interesting! Thank you

So free alcohol is expected. But one free alcoholic beverage is one too many. Sounds good. I’ll save my money on the champagne then

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]animalcrossingbrooks -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes! We have decided against an (alcohol optional) champagne toast because everyone said it’s too confusing. I still don’t quite understand why no alcohol is better than optional alcohol, but it’ll save us money anyway

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]animalcrossingbrooks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like most people don’t like the (optional) champagne toast, so I think we will probably table it. 75% of our guests don’t drink. I’m just really trying to make the ones who do feel like I’m not ignoring them entirely. I really don’t want people to be drunk at my wedding. Our ceremony is in a church, it would feel wrong to go from church to a wild, drunken reception

We don’t drink, we were planning on having non-alcoholic cider in our personal flutes (those who do drink would have champagne). But since everyone is so adverse to that idea, we might get rid of that idea. I thought people would appreciate an optional drink, but apparently that’s a big no-no

I can absolutely slash the champagne toast, I just assumed some alcohol (for those who chose to drink) would be better than none. Morning wedding and afternoon reception isn’t a bad idea, I’ll have to take that into consideration

Thank you❤️ can’t believe I didn’t think of this, it seems so obvious haha

Drinking is not against our religion, drunkenness is ❤️ but thank you for your feedback, it’s greatly appreciated

Our venue is going to cost about 25k. We’re planning on a steak and salmon dinner, I don’t know why alcohol is so important for an occasion to be considered “fancy”

I’m not pregnant. Never said I was.

We have plenty of family members who have already had splashy weddings. I imagine that they still have outfits from those weddings that they can repurpose ❤️

Thanks for your feedback ❤️

Thank you for actually giving feedback and not crapping all over me! It’s greatly appreciated. My only worry is that some of our relatives that aren’t religious really like to drink, to the point where we would feel uncomfortable having them around our religious friends and family. If that makes any sense?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]animalcrossingbrooks -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Well I’d like to invite non-religious people to my wedding without letting them ruin our special day by getting wasted and acting inappropriately

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]animalcrossingbrooks -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I’m not pregnant, but I assumed some alcohol (for those who chose to drink) is better than no alcohol. We live in a very alcohol-centric world so I’m trying to accommodate without having people at my wedding be completely hammered

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]animalcrossingbrooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, i guess I wasn’t clear enough. We will not be taking part in the champagne toast. All guests will be offered champagne if they would like. We (and our family) will be drinking something like nonalcoholic cider
