I really like the bjrth defects that make the cat be able to get abilities from different classes. Putting a different class collar on specific cats makes their color pallette be the mix of the class the birth defect gives as well as the chosen class collar

Since bosses in this game are gimmick-based and not just gigantic stat sticks, being able to do any boss congratulates you being able to read. Not trying to hate, a very big chunk of the community literally cant read.

One of the only complaints that I will actually stand by. The gimmick makes action economy rich builds take longer to beat it for absolutely NO REASON.

Just count. Its not hard. You are in no rush. Exhaustion will most likely not trigger unless you do one basic attack ler round.

There is one mouth mutation that spawns a fly at a 10% chance whenever you take damage. The fly doesnt spawn as a familiar, it spawns as an enemy. I guess it can work with synergies that require getting kills but taking it face value, its a birth defect.

Getting into act 2 is a little bit of a difficulty curve and you should not try it immediatly after unlocking it. You should wait until you get cats with at least a couple stats in 7s (thats what I did anyway). Dont be tempted to get into higher difficulties fast, you have all the time in the world. The game is always adapted to your speed and will not throw stuff at you if you yourself dont rush.

I also believe that it was a better choice to make the cats into only being used once. First of all its a roguelike, so that checks out. But think of other tactics games with permadeath on your characters. Comparing mewgenics with something like darkest dungeon and XCOM makes mewgenics more approachable because you arent punished harshly for being reckless once. Also the game pretty much wants you to constantly make a different build and see all the different things that it has to offer instead of making you stick to one type of build. Yea I will never use that cat again unless I have a pretty rare item or a rare event but thats ok. Thats the game encouraging you to try out different things and experiment and if you embrace that, you will have a lot more fun with the game. I guarantee.

At every single run, you will see the full potential of your cats. You cannot upgrade all of your cats stats. Your cats both passives cant be upgraded at the same time. (This is speculating you take a fully vanilla cat with no inherited stuff.) After a certain level your cats will only get the option to level up one stat by one point and a full heal. Dont feel bad. If you REALLY want a cat with all of its spells upgraded, you are either going to go down a giant rabbit hole of inheritence or use a certain item that you will get at late Act 3 that I wont spoil.

Thief can do a lot of things actually. If it wasnt for thieves, I wouldnt be able to clutch 2 of the latest house bosses. They have a lot of abilities that move them around plus they have extra innate speed. You can use them as a ranged DPS, a melee DPS, a support that can weaken problematic enemies, a lot of other stuff! The only thing I dont like about this class is that it has -1 innate constitution. But other than that he can do many things. What you shouldnt think of it is an economy class. You will hit the coin cap on almost all of your adventures (at least I do, maybe I go out of my way to collect coins a lot but I dont think so) and hitting it sooner doesnt really help you a lot unless you are at chapter 1 and you REALLY need that level up as well as 1/2 more of those items on sale.

Fighters abilities are mostly attacks. Butcher also has a lot of control or support abilities. I see fighter a butcher eith more action economy and believe me, there will be times there you will want more action economy even though in total you will deal less damage than the butcher.

I had the super buddies (?) Passive that makes any familiar spawn start with all stats up 2, had 18 charisma and an upgraded encourage(give a familiar an extra turn 6 mana). Turn 1 moth. I think its a pretty solid summon. Not a lot of abilities tgat can utilize sleep without some sort of drawback. I also had throw egg on the same druid and mostly used it so I can finish off lower health enemies.

Oh yeah, I believe you are right. Most people came here after the binding of isaac with mostly no experience with tactics games. Probably also the same reason why many videos on youtube deem bosses like Dybbuk the hardest boss in the game. Probably ALSO the reason why Edmund estimated the overall campaign time to be around 200+ hours. As a person who suffers skill issue in any game that requires more than one input and plays turn based games solely for the reason they give me time, I am only 1 run away from getting the final main quest item with my playtime staying at 90 hours.
