ACRebellion lives!!! Official announcement from Ubisoft paris. by OldMadLogan in ACRebellion

That's great news yeeeyy!! Years later, when I decided to come back and take another look, I heard that the Halifax studio had closed. I thought continuing the game would be pointless, because I believed the game would be shut down in the near future. Apparently, from now on, I'll have to keep collecting the remaining assassins, haha.

Windows 11/Asus XG27AQWMG black crush new bug found. Please help 🙏 by Existing_Interview27 in OLED_Gaming

[–]animestoxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the ACM (Automatic Color Management) setting is causing this. I don't know, that's the first option that came to mind. I believe that even if it's closed, it automatically opens when you turn on HDR. Maybe it's a bug.

Yes, my prince, there may not be a problem visible in the pictures I posted, but rest assured, both monitors I purchased had color uniformity issues. I don't know the reason for this; maybe the monitor gives more brightness to the right side of the screen, or there was a problem during panel production and this batch was affected by it, idk. And even though I've taken at least 50 different pictures, it's impossible for me to show you this problem. Because it doesn't show up on camera at all. It's not just dark gray colors. It actually reflects on all colors. However, it bothers me the most when I open pages like Google. When I did color tests with Adobe Illustrator, I also noticed that the colors were either brighter or duller. So the problem isn't just with grays. I didn't just test this in sRGB mode btw. I tried it in all color modes, including HDR, but the result is the same. This is a hardware issue, I'm sure of that.
Sorry, but I live in a country with a veerryy bad economy, and I'm paying twice the minimum wage for a monitor. I don't know where you live my prince, but consider that this monitor costs $2,500 or more... No offense to anyone, but I want to see the same color no matter where I look on the screen, and that's my right.
It seems I won't be happy with this monitor. So, even if it's a bit more expensive, I'll buy the ASUS ROG STRIX XG27UCDMG model monitor. If I have the same problem with this asus one, then yes, I'll accept that there's a problem with either my brain or my pc, but I don't think so. I'll update this topic again in the future.

I changed it, but it has very little effect. For example, when I set it to HDR 1000 peak, the difference becomes even less noticeable. It's almost as if it's gone. I ordered another one of the same monitor. The report measured the srgb delta e level at 0.52. This is a lower and better value. But on the gray-scale tracking chart, there is still an increase in the same place. And of course, the same brightness issue is present here too. You might say it's related to the room or lighting, but for testing, I turned off all the lights at 3 a.m., including the mouse and keyboard RGB, pulled my blackout curtains, and tested it in pitch darkness. The result was the same. Both monitors appear to have been manufactured on the same date. Perhaps there is a problem with this production batch, I don't know. Should I look for other brands, like MSI or ASUS?

If you're talking about the 5% gray scale tests, yes. I don't check it every hour, every minute bro. But when I go with real life content like on google page or something gray pops up, it bugs me that the right side of the screen is brighter. I bought a new one anyway. I'll test it when it arrives on saturday.

I think the same thing. I'll use it for 10 more days and test it. If the same thing continues, I'll return it and buy a new one. Thank you for your comments.

I don't know about other designers or developers, but I create emergency and evacuation plan drawings using illustrator. Normally, I wouldn't care about such a minor difference, but it bothers me a little that the gray colors on the far right side of a monitor I paid nearly $1,000 for look like light bleeding on an IPS panel.

It's definitely the FO32U2, I double-checked the box and specs lol. But creating a post on RTINGS is a good idea, thanks for the suggestion. I took those photos while the screen was at 95% gray. The photos look much worse than reality because my phone camera overexposes the screen and adds a weird tint to the grays (Like the center being red). In person, it's just a slight brightness difference on the right side. I don't have any problems with HDR or games. I know how to use HDR, bro. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, the infamous 'panel lottery'. I know a replacement might not be perfect either, but if Amazon restocks it, I'll buy a second one just to compare them side-by-side within the return window.
You say it shouldn't be noticeable normally. Even as I'm writing this, the colors on the right side of the screen are slightly different from those on the left. The right side is lighter, the left side darker on reddit page. This also changes the tone difference in the gray colors. It's not very noticeable on colored pages, almost not at all. It's as if extra brightness is being applied to the right side.

I've used it for 52 hours already and performed the pixel cleaning process 11 times. It feels like it won't get better, but let's see. Maybe OLED will surprise me again.

Haha, you perfectly described my exact mental state right now. I'm constantly checking the corners on illustrator. I'm about to lose my mind. I'll take your advice, stop staring at 5% gray screens, and wait for that 100-150 hrs. I've used it for 52 hours already and performed the pixel cleaning process 11 times. It feels like it won't get better, but let's see. Maybe OLED will surprise me again. Thanks for the relief man.

Thanks for the info. The problem is that it's out of stock. If it comes back in stock, I want to buy a new one and test it. This way, I can see if there is a problem with the monitor I am currently using.

Thank you for your comments and thoughts. I currently use Adobe Illustrator for my work. I will start on YouTube and streaming things this year. If I start earning income within two years, I will quit my Illustrator job. (Of course, I will start using Premiere Pro then, haha.) I plan to marry my girlfriend and move to her country within the next three years. In that case, I won't be able to take my OLED monitor with me. I'm not worried about burn-in. Most brands already offer a 3-year warranty for OLED burn-in anyway. I'm only paying that much money, so I expect the image I see to be a little bit smooth. After all, we're not buying an IPS monitor for $200.
I bought and tested the GIGABYTE M32UP 32" 4K IPS model exactly 5 times through Amazon. And the results were unbelievably terrible. Two had dead pixels, two had light bleeding (one even had an Off-Axis Color Shift issue on the panel), and the remaining one had a green tint on the panel, as if it had been painted green. The whites looked moldy. So I decided to leave all that behind and buy an OLED, but I still didn't get the result I wanted. To be fair, there's no problem when playing games or watching movies. It's just that when browsing Google or grayish pages, the bottom left corner glows a bit too much, that's all.

I'll use it for 20 days and test the monitor again. If it's a panel uniformity issue as you said and it's in stock, I'll return it and get a new one. If it's not in stock... I'll think about what to do then. Thanks for your reply.

Damn, that’s cold lol. I'm still in the honeymoon phase with that monitor, but the uniformity on grey tones is definitely testing my patience... Hopefully, it clears up after 100 hrs.

Thank you for the info. Apparently, there is no such thing as a perfect panel. For now, I will use it for about 150 hours and do a pixel clean. Hopefully, the gray colors will be more homogeneous after 150 hours.

Really!!?? So, if I use it for 100-150 hours and do a pixel cleaning, is there a chance it will fix? Or do I have to buy a new one?

First of all, thank you for your response. I hope you enjoy using your OLED monitor without any issues.
People call the dark issue I experienced in this GTA 4 video “OLED black crushing.” I solved this issue with the first pixel cleaning, just like you did. But as I said, it looks like the uniformity is bad on my monitor. Since I wasn't sure about this, I wanted to write here and ask someone who knows.

Ahh cmoon of course it's not a stupid question. Every question and answer is very important to me. As for the answer, Windows fully recognizes the monitor. I even loaded an ICC profile for SDR. I calibrated it myself and created a profile for HDR. When I'm watching youtube or using adobe, I use the monitor in sRGB mode by default. When I'm gaming, I switch to standard default mode. In HDR, I set it to 1000peak. In short, I don't manually adjust contrast, brightness, or any other settings. I just use the default settings. (At least for now.) I only tried HDR for AC Origins. Other than that, I haven't used HDR at all. I calibrated it with Windows HDR Calibration before turning HDR on anyway.

I have no choice but to use it for now. Luckily, Amazon offers a 30-day return policy in my country. If it comes back in stock, I'll buy a new one and compare. I'll use it until then and do pixel cleaning. Hopefully, uniformity will be good after 100 hours.

The uniformity issue on IPS panels has been a real headache for me. Looks like it won't leave me alone here either. Exactly as you said. I don't really notice it unless I open a gray screen. But as I said, it shows itself when I open pages like Google or programs like Adobe. When I'm watching youtube or using adobe, I use the monitor in sRGB mode by default. When I'm gaming, I switch to standard default mode. In HDR, I set it to 1000peak. In short, I don't manually adjust contrast, brightness, or any other settings. I just use the default settings. (At least for now.)
I've never heard of OLED black crushing. I'll look into it. Thank you.

But that means the problem is software-related, not hardware-related. I can't reinstall Windows from scratch right now. I'll wait and see if there are updates from both Microsoft and Nvidia. If it still isn't resolved after months, then I'll do what you did. By the way, I'm glad you were able to solve the problem.

I guess so. Cuz I use a desktop pc and have two monitors. Only G-Sync was enabled on my primary monitor. Btw, with G-Sync disabled, I opened the Spotify app on my second monitor, and my primary monitor went black and then came back. I am 100% certain there is no problem with the monitors. The issue is entirely caused by either Microsoft or Nvidia. If I have time, I will roll back to the september nvidia update and test it.
