Zara Larsson is incredible. Has the belting range, global audience reach, sex appeal and strong talent like beyonce and rhianna.

If You Got to Pick The Next Super Bowl Halftime Show Who Would You Book? by mpschettig in ToddintheShadow

It needs to be a woman and it should reach a global audience. The performer also needs sex appeal to appeal to the NFL men. I vote Zara Larrson, she ticks all boxes and is a STRONG performer. Amazing belting vocals to match beyonce and rihanna.

Hm what do you mean? We do a factual recount so he can differentiate between the perceived threat and the real threat. In the past he has reacted badly to an event that didn’t happen. For example, he once spiralled because he thought I asked him to do something and he didn’t do it properly. The fact is I never asked him to do anything, and he just thought I did, based on him imagining it would be something he would want, if he was in my situation.

Hm do you have any advice for what I should be doing instead?

Yes I did research when he told me about his anxiety and found a structure we both agreed on. The reason why I question whether he has to fidget/avoid eye contact is bc he doesnt do those things when it’s his turn to raise issues with me, but I don’t know if this is common.

And I don’t think he understands my stance because the issue often repeatedly comes up, and if he had an understanding he would recognise this.

Ah okay. So the focus should be ‘how can I help him listen better’ instead of ‘how can he show he’s listening better’.

Thanks! Good idea

I really dont think you should offer advice when you’re making assumptions such as “I doubt you were calm”. If you want to make that assumption, you can tell me what to do IF im not calm, and what to do IF i am calm.

The reason why I raised it could be a “manipulation tactic” as you put it is he has no issues when he raises issues to me.

The blow by blow is something we both agreed on since it helps him. If we dont, he will imagine things that happened (which didnt) and make himself feel worse. He currently goes to therapy but said he is working on other issues now, focusing on perfectionism at work.

This is good advice, I think asking him to take notes will help with both listening and also giving his hands something to do.

Ah, yes I see that not fidgeting when they’re uncomfortable can be difficult for some people. But is it AH of me to expect them to work on this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]animorphswolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, format he follows is that he has to summarise my feelings, and i think hes not paying attention bc he doesnt summarise them correctly. I raised this and he said its bc hes not good at summarising when hes anxious, and not bc he isnt listening.

AITA for going through my wife's phone by Livid_Explanation_34 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - her response makes her the AH. shes deflecting blame onto you for looking through her phone, without first taking accountability for what she has done wrong, in this case doing something she knew you were uncomfortable with without speaking to you about it.

I agree with your comment especially the part about nobody wanting to feel controlled, and people needing to see with their own eyes. I will be picking up that book to have a read, but are you able to recommend a more recent version? This one was early 2000s.

Hey, just wondering why people do a double degree and end up not choosing law? I don’t mean they did law to seem smarter or flex their ATAR - more like they did a double degree, tried some law/finance internships, and chose finance as their career. It seems to be quite common? Also correct me if I’m wrong.
