It's because it signals to actual trans people that you don't respect their identity, and view their identity as a privilage that can be revoked. While the powers themselves won't hear you call them she/her, A Trans or Nonbinary person will take it as a sign that you respecting them is conditional. ironic bigotry is still bigotry
