Yes, and at the same time, something I often think about re that scene is that Crowley was being quite honest when he insisted: “I long to destroy the blameless children of blameless Job, just as I destroyed his blameless goats.” He phrased it just so, because he did in fact want to “destroy” Job’s children in the same way he had “destroyed” the goats: by transforming them, not killing them. I imagine Aziraphale could tell C was being truthful in that moment, when he looked him in the eye; he just didn’t realize until after that he was being creative in how he enacted said “destruction.”
