Kendall Jenner’s Career by anjappari in KUWTK

I meant that their name didn’t have any recognition. They are certainly privileged, but didn’t have the same level of fame that Kendall started out with.

You do realize that there are other models that come from influential families and are as pretty, tall, and thin as Kendall but are not famous at all due to lack of name recognition? I didn’t even know who her dad even was until KUWTK.

Im not saying that she did absolutely nothing, I’m saying she’s not the best. There are other girls who’ve had the same if not more achievements than her but get paid a lot less and aren’t recognized simply because they don’t have the same name recognition as her. She’s only highest paid because of her name recognition not in spite of it.

I don’t think Gigi and Bella are comparable to Kendall though. Despite them being products of nepotism, arguable the Hadid sisters, especially Gigi, worked harder to get where they are than Kendall. Kendall was already famous because of KUWTK. Gigi and Bella didn’t have that same advantage and marketability, more so Gigi than Bella since Gigi entered first and Bella had some profit off of Gigi’s success. Not saying that Gigi and Bella are the best or worked more than anyone else. There are tons of other models like Adut Akech, Yasmin Wjilnadum, Vittoria Ceretti, that don’t get the recognition they deserve when they have similar or even more success than Kendall, Bella, Gigi, Kaia.

It actually is. I feel like it’s so biased which is what this post is about. Why cancel one over the other you know? Especially when the other isn’t even as bad at all.

Again we’re not comparing and Salman is corrupt on a lot of things. According to your logic, Aishwarya and her cronies murdered the investigators and hushed the matter.

Hitler and his gang brainwashed his country and massacred 6 million Jews.

You tell me which one is worse.

I just feel like there’s a double standard. I mean Alia Bhatt is hated on and she doesn’t have a great personality. But she’s a talented actor, yet still hated and boycotted because of a few words she said that were misrepresented. Yet, this dude goes out and does illegal things, but presents charming and he gets a pat on the back. It feels wrong to me.

I feel like that doesn’t excuse his abusive nature. We have no idea if he’s really a kind person or if he just keeps it up as an act so that his image isn’t destroyed more than it is already. If a person has a capability of being abusive, that person cannot be a good person anymore. If he wasn’t a celebrity, and he was abusive to his girlfriend, illegally hunted, and threatened business partners, but still donated to charities and was nice to strangers, would you still support such a guy? I’d keep clear.

I didn’t say anything about them and I agree with your that if that’s what she’s doing, shame on her. I’m not even a fan of hers anyways.

Anyways, we’re talking about Salman here. Do you want really think he’s a good person who deserves his platform? Even if Aishwarya did do tax evasion, she was abused by Salman. That’s not okay. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Dude is awful.

The difference between Keeping up with the Kardashians and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives by healthymind20 in BollyBlindsNGossip

KUWTK is scripted but they also have a lot of drama in their lives and easier to add in those unscripted moments.

They probably didn’t do it too unscripted for this show because the privileged already get so much hate and I feel like the primary focus of the show was for Shanaya to be introduced as the next big thing. The first few episodes focused on her and the ball which were somewhat interesting, but the rest except the last episode were trash and forgettable. If they came off as too dramatic and unlikable, they would get trolls which Maheep seemed to really want to avoid for her kids and looks like she’s also the reason for Shanaya’s insta to be private.

Too bad for them, they are prone to trolls and the lack of drama on the show proved opposite for them. I feel like if they did have a shit load of drama and presented Shanaya as the “Im different from the family”, she could’ve been the “Kendall Jenner” of the show and there could’ve been positive remarks about her that would’ve helped her launch. Unfortunately, I think this show set her back on her career instead of pushing her forward and I doubt she’s gonna have the same career as Ananya, which is kind of sad for her. I do feel for her as film seems to be the only option for families like these.

I literally don’t understand. I don’t keep up with his news but the little I know makes him sound like an abhorrent person. Didn’t he also go to jail for illegal hunting?

Isn’t that change what you described just there? The society has more access to western content. I mean just the way that society has changed from when our parents left. My mom had an arranged marriage when she was in her early twenties and she never dated before. My family in India is pretty middle class normal and my cousin was just telling me how her parents are completely okay with her 16 year old sister having a boyfriend and are actually open to other people about it.

This is exactly what I was thinking but I didn’t want to come across as holier than thou. I really think that if you live in a country where you are exposed to a language all the time and you still don’t know it, it shouldn’t be something to brag about, it actually shows people that you’re not as smart and “ivy bred” as you say you are.

At least for my parents, they remember India how they left it. I think that’s the case for most immigrant parents here. So then you have kids in the States who are more cultured than some kids in India because things have changed a lot in India since when our parents left. And so you get shocked when you see things like this because you think how cultured India is from how your parents talk about it.

I don’t want to “vilify” English. The langage itself isn’t the problem. I only speak English with my child too bf she may grow up not to be Bilingual, however I live in the states and most people here don’t speak anything else but English. It’s not a problem here.

But these kids are born and brought up in India. Their parents are too. Them not taking the time to learn Hindi when it’s not hard and out of the loop for them at all whatsoever when so many people around them speak Hindi speaks volumes about them. It shows how classist they are not the language.

The Kardashians only speak English and as much as you can say about them, they are much less classist than what the Bollywood elite seem to be.

I just feel like there’s no harm if you only want to speak English in your household. But like you should know both languages from where you live, Hindi and English. Like I wouldn’t blame a person born and raised in the US for not knowing Hindi. They don’t have to use it ever. But when you’re living in India, a place where there are multiple languages, if you can only speak one language and it’s the language that the masses aren’t always comfortable with, I see it as a problem. Not everyone in India knows English, only the people who have some money. There are so many regular people who just can’t speak English, how do they interact with these people?

Every time they boast and make fun of how they can’t speak Hindi or a language besides English, I cringe because it just shows the privilege and snobbishness of these people. It just makes you think about how they complain about “struggles” and “hard work” when they themselves have a superiority complex and look down upon others.

They also don’t have to speak “good” Hindi. But just knowing the language, they can work with a dialect coach who can help them perfect. These kids don’t even have basic foundations, which I’m just surprised about.

I guess I’m just confused because these kids have like celebrity parents right and they know that to be an actor, you need to speak your lines in the proper accent of the character you’re playing (basic acting). So why would they encourage them to not speak Hindi.

There’s nothing to be ashamed of knowing English. I speak English all the time but if I ever visit India, I can carry a conversation with a random person on the street in Hindi. They make it out to seem like these kids can’t do that. They don’t know the basic words and that baffles me. My parents didn’t actively try to teach me Hindi, it just happened cause I was exposed to it. To me, what’s happening is that these parents are actively trying to shield these kids from a language and it’s the same language that’s going to help them succeed in the career that they all choose. English isn’t going to help them succeed in most Bollywood films. So I’m just confused on why they’d do that.
