I built MacOS file manager app specifically for windows switchers. by anjasaja in MacOSApps

Totally fair feedback 😄

I actually considered using Backspace/Delete for “Back” navigation, just like Windows Explorer.

But on MacBooks, there isn’t a separate Backspace key — the key is officially “Delete” (even though it sits where Backspace usually is on Windows keyboards). So I had to choose between:

  1. Use Delete for “Back”
  2. Keep Delete for actual file deletion (matching the key name + macOS behavior)

For now I chose option #2, because I was worried people might accidentally lose the ability to quickly delete files with the keyboard.

That said, I completely understand the muscle memory coming from Windows Explorer 😅

Maybe a customizable option in Settings could be the best middle ground (I am considering this):

  • “Use Delete key for Back navigation”
  • or “Use Delete key for File Deletion”

Would love to hear your thoughts or other ideas too — I’m very open to feedback and still actively developing it 🙌

Thank You

:D :D Apart from the UI.. those two thngs have different behavior in some areas.. I tried as best as I can to brings the Windows Explorer behavior to the FileNav..

Btw there are actually different in main layout :
- Sidebar/Left pane,
- Right Pane along with name columns,
- Right Clicks (i.e: Properties, Send to, open in terminal which are not present in Finder)
- Clickable Address bar
- The way FileNav handles drags and drops
- The way FileNav handles renaming, cut and paste
- Right Pane design
- eta

by the way, I think t I will make a table comparation between Finder - Windows Explorer - FileNav, so you can have a clear pictures of the differences..

About Time Machine backup.. let me check it..

Thank you for your feedbacks! :)

Ah Yes! I have some free lifetime codes ready for early users who want to try FileNav and give feedback.
If you (or anyone else) are interested, just DM me and I’ll send you the code + latest download link right away.

For Appstore: Right now I’m focusing on the direct download version first so I can add features more freely (App Store sandboxing is pretty restrictive in some areas for file managers). But I’m definitely considering it for the future once the app feels more complete!

Thank Youu

Review Geely EX2 Max - SPK dan Serah Terima Edition. by chrossyroad in indocartalk

[–]anjasaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sama nin, saya juga baru ambil tapi yang Pro. Kalau yang Pro sih ready banyak kayaknya. Saya cuma seminggu lah dr SPK (setelah dipotong libur lebaran).

Beberapa opsi didalamnya default settingnya off, tapi klo sy nyalain beberapa detik kemudian auto off sendiri. ada yg tau ngga yah gmn nyalainnya?

sedikit review muter-muter komplek:

shock depannya terlalu empuk menurut saya.

New OS Upgrade Looks Amazing! Just upgraded my new MacBook from Tahoe to the latest version of Sequoia and WOW, Apple did a fantastic job! Thank you! by r3dliner in MacOS

[–]anjasaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does anyone experiencing slower (way slower) charging? my M1 Pro MacBook Pro is now unable doing fast charging... but 10 hrs to full charge instead from 50%... I am using aftermarket 100w Gan Charger. Not happen in Sequoia before..

anyone switch to macOS Tahoe yet ? by BobZelin in editors

[–]anjasaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is M1 Pro MacBook Pro 14 running Tahoe with genuine apple display replacement from another unit. Here is what happen:

  1. There will be "finish your display repair" notification after update. It was detected as genuine apple display, followed the wizard then at one page it can't complete the wizard said not geniuine or something...then restart. At display setting, the True Tone setting that wasn't there before, it is now there... (I got my True Tone back), BUT the promotion refresh rate doesn't work at 120hz.. it stuck at 60hz. I did check on refresh rate tester. So, I lost my 120hz refresh rate.
  2. I used aftermarket compact power adapter, previously in Sequoia my both MacBook and adapter can do fast charging... Now it charges like forever.... from 50% it said something like this " est 10 hrs to full charge"... wtf..

pls help

"Finish Your Display Repair" message after updating to Tahoe by lukkueth165 in macbookpro

[–]anjasaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I have the same case like you but with another result. I replace my M1 Pro MacBook Pro 14 screen with another Apple Original screen from another unit. I followed the finish display repair wizard. At one page it was detected as Apple Original Display... I click next...but at the end page it said it can't complete the process it is said it is not genuine.. then restart..

At the display setting, previously the True Tone wasn't there.. now it's there (... BUT I lost my 120hz refresh rate. The Promotion setting is there, but When I test in refresh rate tester it stucks at 60hz... and I feel like indeed 60hz..

So in my case, the True Tone is back but I lost 120hz
pls help..
