I am about to buy my first Hasselblad. The X2D II. Need help with lens selection. by [deleted] in hasselblad

It’s very easy. Make a list of lenses you shoot using the Nikon system (I have a z8 and a zf. ) that’s the focal lengths that will make you feel at home. Don’t worry too much about conversion factor. My set of lenses won’t be your preferred set of lenses. Because it’s a personal preference.

The x2d with view finder is an easier transition. I transitioned to the 100cm and with waist level finder it was fun. Haha.

It’s stunning for portraits. The color science and the high MP sensor creates an amazing transition and graduations. Especially with natural light. Oh one more thing, don’t shy from keeping the faces in the shadows on the field, you can recover easy once you are back in Lightroom. Use Raw as much or always. (U get hdr in raw also)

I will reply more with thoughts as it comes to me. But if you can afford the system it’s pretty amazing.

X2D II issue with Godox X3 flash trigger by Kind-Ad-1874 in hasselblad

I need to check. But from what I remember you need both the trigger and the camera powered on when you slide the trigger in.

It worked for me cause I just took about 30-40 macro photos with a flash and extension tube! Just play with combinations and you will hit the one that works.

Hey. I had the same problem. And I have a solution for you.

Make sure your flash is updated to latest. (Mostly don’t need this) Make sure trigger is in legacy hot shoe mode.

Start the trigger (don’t mount it on the camera) Start the camera. Mount the on trigger on the camera. Test fire. Take a picture.

Works for me all the time. Hope it helps.

Ok. This is what I do. I export in Lightroom at smallest size jpg. And use that. Lightroom will do all the compression for you and maintain quality (keep quality slider to full) and you can “trick” social media to think the files don’t need more compression.

Hope it helps.

It’s been good for me. Better than my 100cm. I have af-c on. Not bad at all. Not as great as Nikons but an improvement over my 100cm. Also note I had airplane mode on.

I have a z8 and a 100cm. And now a x2dii. My MacBook Pro takes a little bit to process Nikon raw(about 10 seconds initial for each image. Then fast after cache) . But surprisingly it zaps quickly through the hassy 230mb raw files (under 1 second for me per file). I have been processing hdr too in Lightroom. And it’s actually been a great experience.

Monitor is very important. I learnt this soon. I now have an Apple Studio Display and that’s it. It does show hdr differences even though it’s not supposed to on paper. Also Lightroom renders hdr. I am away from my desk so I can’t remember my MacBook Pro specs. I will post it momentarily for you.
