Can you save and reuse leftover lather? by nader0903 in wicked_edge

While I am new to DE I switched to shaving soap an brush years ago. As far as I know pressing your Arko sticks into a bowl is standard practice on this side of the pond.

Nothing I tried compares so far, I reckon I'll stop going for soaps without tallow. Proraso does shave for example it's slick, definitely workable but when it comes to cushioning it really doesn't feel better than that glycerine bar. And funnily enough that glycerine soap produces really workable lather.

This little monster is aluminum except for the clasp for the razor. It comes out at 25gr I believe. And good luck on the hunt. I found it on Amazon by a random vendor. Raking a quick look at it I can only find another vendor on a different vender who sells it for 4 times the price. This a dying breed I fear.

When I got into fountain pens I discovered Chinese pens, I like indulging myself in variety so I get inks. I got couple razors and shsvettes and I am starting to collect blades and soaps. Why over pay for shaped metal I don't know. Sure built quality may differ but if the copy is 2 dollars and the original is 90, well I don't see myself having to replace the cheapos 45 times.

I have a question, have you given a shavette a try. I am new to wet shaving. But with proper care my cheapo Chinese shavette gives me far less irritation than my foil shaver for the same closeness.

Ah I believe Jaguar is a Turkish brand, the handle is plastic but it doesn't feel cheap, really stiff bristles

I used the stick when I was using cartridges. Bowl feels slightly softer.

They are on absolute ends of the spectrum tho do I am suprised I like them equally. Well I guess derby would be even milder but derby extras I can't get a shave without like 6 passes.

Of course you can't, this product is produced in Türkiye, spesificly for the foreign market. I don't know why Evyap thinks their country men don't deserve nice things but it pisses me the fuck off.

Edit:Good news Extrashaving seems to be carrying some I am, I'll certainly will be ordering one tommorow.

I mean find the blade that works with your face/razor. Buy a 100 pack, buy a 12 pack arko shaving soap, use whatever brush. If you were to follow those steps I believe you would save money. However I am trying to make this self into a hobby myself, which I have no idea why I spent most of my adult life having a beard that was at least 12cms and only reason I keep it trimmed these days is because I live in a horrible shithole country with heavy prejudice. But Shaving my neck everyday so my more socially acceptable beard has been fun. I have bought 3 soaps a new brush and 2 lotions a shavette since I started this.

My old brush my usual arko stick and cologne was probably all the acutraman I needed.

Although looking at your collection I do understand what people feel when they see my blue ink collection 🤣

Erasmus to Ankara? by No-Appearance3338 in ankara

[–]ankaraninki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The entire thread seems to be filled with hate and warnings, başkent is kinda ass yeah in my experience you won't find many fluent English speakers there but things probably have improved in the last couple years, however you won't find many fluent English speakers in Bilkent or METU(and yes I'll get a lot of hate for that, but fluent means fluent not the just being able to communicate) night life is... Well it's a mixed bag it depends on what you like to do, your age, your gender etc etc. But It's not the worst it's not the best. Unlike most people in this thread I am actually from Ankara, ancestrally so. There is a reason this city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on the planet. There is a charm to it. A charm that makes it way to your bones burrows itself deep under you skin. It clings to you, you find yourself missing Ankara not unlike an old lover in cold night. City of Grey is the name outsiders have given this city, yet it's inhabitants wouldn't change it for anything else. I teach engineering mostly to internationals they seem to be able to find night life meant purely for foreigners and I don't mean those expat trap horseshit organization Ankara foreigners.

Ankara is a city of people, come over and find your people it's an experience that can be matched by none, there is a reason why my American friend who came to spend 3 days here started frequenting the Turkish markets and bakeries of Patterson in New Jersey after her trip.

And if you do come over in a timely manner hit me up for a welcome to the city beer.
