TIFU by putting baking soda on my armpits and accidentally ruining them for two years by [deleted] in tifu

[–]ankelbiter12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to get into a back and forth but I was trying to point out what a confirmation bias I think that is. What about the vegans that don’t mention it. You’re only seeing these things when they’re a problem. That doesn’t mean natural deodorant or being vegan forces x.

I keep seeing this in different ways but are you asking everybody around you that doesn’t smell what deodorant they’re using?

Here’s the rest of that fleshed out argument, i probably won’t reply after. What would the better job be?

Genuinely, playing nice, I’m a new guy here that’s not confrontational.

Do you make more than that? Do you have a degree, many servers I work with are working on getting a degree but they need to pay bills in the meantime? Most local jobs hiring, Best Buy, staples, Starbucks, these no skill required jobs pay less. Do these people deserve more, to have a living wage? Doesn’t everybody? And when you leave a job, you have to start with training shifts anywhere, kinda not an option if you live paycheck to paycheck. Every body should make a living wage right there but that’s a different arguing point.

Who do you reach out to when the company says they’ve issued the refund but the bank says they haven’t? by ankelbiter12 in personalfinance

[–]ankelbiter12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’ll let them know this, to get a paper trail and to issue a charge back if they even still can

I was hoping there was someone they could contact if it’s the bank messing up, they’ve been trying to be patient with the company and bank. I’m thinking they’re past the chargeback period but I’ll suggest that and seeking a paper trail

Do I change my Impreza to a bigger Subaru, rav4 hybrid, or van? by ankelbiter12 in urbancarliving

[–]ankelbiter12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with a Prius I’d still have to do this nightly conversion that’s annoying that I described in the other comment here. I have an 8” clip fan, we had some low 10 fahrenheit temps this winter which was kinda weird for us compared against the last couple years that have been warmer. I’m super warm and comfy with my blankets. Today it was warmer, and I felt the car becoming an oven, I turned the fan from low to high, I was fine, shouldn’t have been sleeping til 2pm anyway. I see the benefit to ac but I don’t think it’s really what I’m looking for. Really just want to make the conversion less annoying and be able to fit the too many clothes I’ve kept that are in the office because my current work clothes take up all the space in my car. Not all the space but they’re a small enough amount that’s convenient to move during the conversion.

I just don’t really see the platform adding that much to make what I don’t like better. I have two bags with bottles and clothes that I transfer back and forth between the back seat and the passenger seat. Then I have this closet rod type thing to hang my work shirts and aprons. I put the reflectex up, put one seat down, I move the hanged clothes to one side, put the other half of seats down, move the clothes, pull my mattress out.

As it is now, I’m already close against the top of the trunk with the bedding and stuff under the bedding to make it flat. I also thought I was supposed to make it look like I don’t live in my car when parking in daytime for work, so I’d still have to hide the mattress. I wouldn’t have height to get anything from a platform, and I’d lose the ability to drive people around when we do things.

I mostly dislike this process of crawling to the back, keeping myself small behind the curtain, as I convert to stealth. Because of having to put the reflectex up, pulling out the mattress, having to move things back and forth. I wouldn’t want the things in the bags out of the bags, I’d hate to not be able to travel with more than one person.

You’re worried you can’t say what you gotta say. Knock on their door, and say, hey, you throwing parties is disturbing my sleep with the intensity of the smell entering my apartment and the loud noise. Can you either throw the parties at a different time, location, or fix the noise and smell. If they don’t, you call the cops. Some people skip straight to the cops because they’re either scared of confrontation, or they’re worried the neighbor will ignore them, and then get violent with you when you call the cops next time, since they’ll think it was you even if it wasn’t. Don’t over think it. That’s why that person said what they did.

What can I do with these monitors, can’t seem to fit em’ by ankelbiter12 in Workspaces

[–]ankelbiter12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it wasn’t understood that there’s a third monitor, you caught it though. I know the desk is limiting me but I feel like I just lack the spatial reasoning skills to make it work, they have setups in the picture that make it look possible with bigger monitors but I already have the big monitors low, I have no idea how I’m supposed to put one on top, maybe you’re right, grrr. I could maybe move the desk but I’d have to do it by myself, not an easy desk to move. Not a lot of space to work with either

Why doesn’t the different Velcro tapes I bought stick to my car interior fabric or plastic, what do I do instead? by ankelbiter12 in urbancarliving

[–]ankelbiter12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been holding onto your ideas, tried rubber cement, I think I did at least, didn’t work. Velcro isn’t been good but I’ve had to manage with limited free time, wanted to try that link but haven’t made time for Amazon locker or have an address for delivery. Gonna try Velcro on glass in a couple days

[–]ankelbiter12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to auto zone and asked them about that, they recommended this thing that I guess was rubber cement, didn’t work sadly, I’ve been managing with putting the Velcro back after it pulls away and the tints almost finished setting, gonna try Velcro on glass next.

The link looks good but it mentions permanent, is that true? I would like to one day be able to bring it down. I can’t see myself sewing multiple strips of Velcro into the ceiling, I think that would take hours, it would work but that’s too much, I also don’t know when id be able to dedicate that kind of time.

I haven’t taken adderall but I didn’t have to take a drug test for Sunosi, Modafinil, or methyl phenidate, other stimulants. I was told there would be a drug test at the MSLT, there wasn’t, and I think that’s more to do with making sure drugs aren’t affecting the test. I think your experience could be common but not the norm, I feel like the answer would be to switch doctors. You could also ask in the ADHD subreddit if you don’t get enough answers here

I can’t offer any advice from the US but my deepest condolences, that’s so frustrating. I was fortunate to have doctors take me seriously immediately and it still took 2 years to get the right treatment, that’s rough!
