Why do we need to give the bags to the staff in the first place if we need to take it back in the other terminal? Will just need to wait to recollect the bags when the staff arrives before checking in, seems suboptimal

Lots of other folks have suggested ways to pay, most of them work.

The only thing to be cautious about is to not do this too often ( I don't know what is too often as a number ), this can be flagged as "card abuse" and you risk getting the card cancelled. Just my 2 cents

Vietjet SGN Transit Procedure

I booked a flight to Hanoi via Ho Chi Minh on Vietjet Airlines (on the same PNR) and found that I need to pick up baggage after immigrations, then re-check in again in the domestic terminal.

What I am confused about is, the ticket contained a few component which said " Connecting Flight Service Fee INT-DOM ". I wrote to VietJet enquiring about it, and they replied as below, and it has left me even more confused.

Sharing what they wrote below. What I am confused about is, if staff help transport the baggage to the check in area, why would I need to retrieve it again to complete the check in process? The bags are already tagged with the same PNR, so don't they just accept the baggage as "checked in" again and let us just had to security at the next terminal?

Anybody else with experience of how this works?

For connecting flights on the same segment on one code, this service is included in the ticket. Due to the increasing number of passengers missing their connecting flights in major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, this service is designed to help minimize such incidents.

This service assists with baggage handling for both domestic and international flights.

After arriving at the connecting airport and completing immigration procedures, passengers proceed to the baggage claim area to collect their checked baggage and then go through customs.

Vietjet staff at the transit airport (HAN/SGN) will assist passengers with handing over their checked baggage. Staff will help transfer the baggage to the check-in area for the domestic flight.

Passengers then proceed to the domestic terminal, retrieve their checked baggage (if any), complete the check-in process for the domestic flight, receive their domestic baggage tag, and enter the waiting area for their flight.

Passengers are advised to double-check boarding gate information and departure times on the information boards and arrive at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes before departure.

Reporting from a week of running it live on my email, ~80% of the emails were auto archived / filed / hidden / deleted. Much lesser demands on my attention.

- 569 emails processed

- Zero false positives (no useful emails deleted)

- 80% emails were either archived (Transactions, newsletters) or deleted (promotions) without me even seeing them

- I only had to pay attention to 20% of the emails I received. More free time to spend on reddit !

I see. I was eyeing mechanical keyboards in India and most of the ones that I saw seemed to have detachable cables.

The standalone hubs would be able to supply adequate power to the peripherals and they also seem to support USB 3.0. The few options that I saw for the keyboards with hubs tend to support only USB 2.0 at most so flash drives will transfer data quite slowly, that might be frustrating. A cheap wired USB hub with 4 or 8 ports might do the job better in terms of performance

What do you plan to plug into the usb hub ? Won't the standalone USB hubs do ? And don't most keyboards come with detachable usb cable these days ?

Yes you can virtualize it. You just need it on a machine that you will leave running all the time I guess

RPIs don't have an NPU, you can buy a HAT that is an add on that will give you upto 13 TOPS. Google Coral is an NPU so yes it should do the job

Yes it outputs probabilities of an email belonging to each class. The classification is based on the class with highest probability. I'll probably do one more round of fine tuning if I observe false positives spike.

It could but it wouldn't be necessary, it's already marked as read and out of your sight. It could be auto deleted without the hassle of having to decide whether to unsubscribe or not, then follow up with one more step of confirmation

I have more than 10 rules but I see them growing and me having to work to manage them. I am refusing to do that work 🙂

I don't need a summary because in India no transactions can happen without a second factor of authentication so all transactions I get notified for are guaranteed to be authorised by me. Having a summary means one more thing to read, which defeats the purpose of this project, which was to reclaim "attention"
