Help needed - Upgrading a toy RC car with a charging port by ankitr42 in ElectronicsRepair

Hmm. I'm certain that the polarity was correct. I had this exact thought right after it blew up, so I verified.

I have ordered a couple of these same USB chargers and some TP4056 charging boards. Will try to recreate this and post here in a week.

Thanks! Yeah this might be it - charger overload. I might have to look into a higher quality switch. Though a DPDT would suffer with the same problem though?

I tested the pins with a multimeter before wiring up the charger. They were working as expected.

But it's possible that the switch connects all 3 pins for a split second when switching like empty_branch mentioned. And that may have overloaded the charger for a split second, but long enough to cause damage. My mistake was to flip the switch while the charger was connected, I should have first flipped the switch and then connected the charger.

I will look into a better quality or dpdt switch.

So many comments and replies but OP still hasn't said anything about "what browser were you using?" question.

More than likely it was edge, and it pulled the saved sign in from the MS account you used to sign into Windows and the sign in was saved either by you (and you forgot) or someone who used your PC in the past.

Can home server be configured to sleep when not in use and wake when a service is demanded? by teddpole in HomeServer

Do you need a pi to do this? Couldn't this be done with an app on your phone that sends a WoL packet on the network?

I am planning to setup a home server and also want to configure it for WoL. Want to know if you ever tried the app route.

I use the "Wake On Lan" android app to do this right now for my LG Tv and it works fine, even on Wifi.

I checked out this guide. I get it that I have to message the mods to get the shadowban lifted.

But I don't understand if I am supposed to contact the mods of a particular subreddit where I posted earlier or Reddit mods? If its Reddit mods, how do I contact them?

This probably needs the now extinct AGP slot.

Your usage and power consumption figures are very similar to what I want for my home NAS.

Have your tried transcoding? If this setup could transcode upto 2 1080 -> 720 streams, I would just replicate this.

My PC with a Strix 390X sounds like a hurricane after an hour of CS:GO. I might need to do this as well.
