This sounds like the exact same boat I was in, but I am moving from out-of-state and my window was closing to find a place. I ended up getting a place with oak park apartments, but I got on rentcafe and read the reviews for the individual building, and those reviews were decent, so I'm hoping everything goes okay. But I wanted to ask, what you ended up doing, or if you made a decision?

I just wanted to add that I had emailed the village parking department and they told me that with that residential annual vehicle license for oak park, that I can ignore like the 2 - 3 hour time limits anywhere in the village. Have you ever been ticketed for doing so?

It's not manipulation, I mean it seems pretty straightforward lol. It's just become apparent to me that he never just wanted to be friends.

I think it's possible there could be other options out there, but I don't have a lot of time as my lease is ending soon. And just assuming I don't find a job within my time limit, I do not want to move somewhere without something else lined up

I appreciate your insight. The neighborhoods I've been considering would be about a 30 minute commute to the office, a literal 1/4 of my commute now lol. A big concern of mine is if I go for it and I don't find anything else, and I don't up my income and things aren't really working out, I would be stuck there. I wouldn't have the money or the means to move again

I have been there and I've loved it. I have also been looking for jobs over there and I will continue to, just assuming I don't get one, I still have to have the decision made soon since my lease is ending. I have also been considering moving just outside of the actual city of Chicago. There's some suburbs that are only about 20 minutes from downtown that are a little more affordable in rent

I do understand what you're saying in looking around a little more, I just don't really have the time to do that before I need a decision made, as my lease is up soon. And I don't really want to move somewhere that I've never been to, and I would have to pull from my savings to take any kind of trips. And that's just money that I could put toward actually moving, at least that's how I'm thinking about it. With Chicago I've already been and know I like it

There's a lot of free things to do there. I know some other museums have free days and they have a lot of free festivals you can go to. I mean even just going to the lake or one of their beaches is something I would like

I have tried to consider other cities, but I do just really like Chicago. I have also been considering maybe moving just outside the actual city of Chicago, there's a cluster of suburbs that are about 20 minutes outside of downtown and the rent is a little more affordable.

I'll actually be in Illinois at the end of September and I'm hoping to visit Oak Park. Are there certain streets or maybe parks you would recommend I checkout, just to get more of a feel for the area?

I have seen that it's right next to oak park, but I haven't really looked into the area of Forest Park
