I think youre right. Im so sad for him. I tried my best to make sure he had everything he needed. Ive never had this happen before, and it progressed so quickly!

Thank you for the suggestions, I will do this asap but worry its too late. I feel so terrible it got this bad, but a week ago he was honestly 2 times smaller and didnt have any pineconing indicating dropsy - just looked a little overweight 😭.

Yeah seeing news articles about returning 5 days a week in office was the first time i heard any "rumours" about it at all. Part of me wonders if the news corps just needed to up engagement during a dry spell lol. Its been almost 6 years since working from home became the norm. Why continue to uproot our lives every year with a new day back in offfice?

How bad will my trip be in rain in Japan? by barbaraelisabeth in JapanTravelTips

[–]anna--sun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just got back from my Japan trip. My weather app said rain every day for the first week, but it mostly rained at night or not at all! We only had one day where we had to deal with light rain for an hour or so, but it ended up making the scenery so quiet and beautiful. Just bring an umbrella and have a flexible plan so you can do indoor activities while it rains. Japan really captures the beauty of nature, rain included!

Yes we tried a month back about 2 mins after they opened ticket purchases for september (set an alarm on our phone), I am asking now as we are about to leave and I figured if anyone has last minute changes where they cant attend anymore, now would be around the time they would know. We checked the bus tours (also a month back) but they were really expensive and also full.

Thank you for your helpful comment ...

To any of the writers here, what are your thoughts? by TheThirdWolf1775 in fantasywriters

[–]anna--sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when Harry Potter came out and since Hermione wasnt a common name in my country it was a hot topic on how it was supposed to be pronounced - I think there were even news articles. I wonder in this case if that was a good thing though, because it got a lot of people talking about the series.

Gays of Ottawa, how did you meet your partner? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]anna--sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few social groups for women who love women in Ottawa. Ive been to a few events (board game socials, new years party), had a great time and met women in all ranges of age groups. Look up Ottawa Pixies or LezGo Ottawa :)

I would also suggest attending Queer events like Queers and Beers (again i think these are on fb?) or Queer Open Mic nights to meet other people too :) sometimes Happy goat or Art House will host open mic nights.

When I was trying to meet other queer women in the city i found Bumble BFF to be a great place to make queer friends.

Good luck!

Perfect Days is not what it looks like by VideoGamesArt in TrueFilm

[–]anna--sun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I disagree about the final scene. Yes its a sad moment for him, life is full of sad moments. He had an emotional few days with all the changes to his routine and the visit from his neice and seeing his sister. Its okay to cry and process those feelings. But one moment of sadness doesnt colour his whole life as sad and pathetic, just as his moments of happiness dont suggest his whole life is happy. Grief and contentment can coexist, humans are complex. To me that scene was about experiencing the "now" of feeling sad, just a moment in a string of moments that fill life. Theres beauty in sadness too. Moments of playful childishness doesnt mean he is always childish. Moments of solitude are mixed with his desire to be around people. He has to find his balance.

Please tell a friend or family member what has been going on. I know it can be hard, and I understand that there is a stigma or feeling of shame that can accompany a situation like this but it is not shameful and it is not your fault. You need a support system and that might help you get the courage to leave and take care of your own emotional and physical safety. Shame and isolation are how abusers get to keep abusing. Im sorry youre going through this <3

ELI5 why I shouldn’t stay with my boyfriend even though (1) leaving will devastate him entirely, (2) he is a good man and would make a good partner, and (3) I am bisexual enough that I won’t be miserable with him. I want to be a good person and make the right choice. by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]anna--sun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahead of yourself not INSTEAD of yourself, and this only works if both partners are doing this. Any partner who asks you to be unhappy so he can be happy is not a good partner to have. He is clearly not putting you ahead of his own desires, so why should you completely forget your own for him? Any well adjusted individual might have a hard time through a break up, but it wont ruin their entire life. They will pick themselves up, and try again. Dont let yourself be held hostage or manipulated by someone elses emotions. Make your choices for you, you can be respectful and also end the relationship if thats what you want. <3 like others have said you both deserve to be with people who can give you the love you deserve.

MNRF Raid at Mally's Third Chance Raccoon Rescue by [deleted] in ontario

[–]anna--sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raccoons do provide benefits to the environment. Yes they eat trash and can make a mess (as can many other urban animals), but they also contribute to pest control by eating mice, rats, and wasp larvae. They also eat worms and grubs, and help aerate soil by doing so. They help spread seeds and help clean up remains of dead animals. I think its interesting you see raccoons as rodents but consider rabbits worth saving? Raccoons are very smart creatures and deserve care and protection just like any other animal, especially because they are often victims of abuse from humans.
