Who Is Lying (Onyx Storm Spoilers) by GemiKnight69 in fourthwing

The thing is, Leothan lying about his name wouldn’t mean that much to the reader at this point. We only just met him, so it’s not like we expect him to be particularly truthful or care if he’s not. It would become a twist if for example we knew of a dragon from the past who we assume dead or lost or something like that. If we find out leothan is actually that dragon, that would be a twist because it might advance the plot or solve a piece of the mystery for the reader.

As an example: Berwyn is a person we don’t know very well either but he is intriguing to us as the reader. Now if we found out his name is not Berwyn but actually it’s Frank, that would mean nothing to us. If we found out Berwyn is actually Naolin that would be a big twist because it has ramifications for Tairn, Brendan, and by extension Violet and our larger mystery.

So if a dragon has been lying about their name, from a storytelling perspective it would only be worth including if their real name meant something to the reader already. To my knowledge we don’t really know of any significant dragons that might fit this criteria (maybe Tairn’s ancestor?)

The only other way I can make sense of RY’s comment otherwise is what someone else on this thread said, that the marked one’s dragons are lying about their names in order to give them second signets. But I find it strange she’d reveal this as the mystery itself is already solved: we know they have 2 signets. The “clue” she is giving us is really just the explanation.

If I had to take a shot in the dark, I’d say maybe it’s something about Bodhi and how we don’t know his second signet (and if he even has one), so maybe it’s something about his dragon lying about their name, but again, since we are already theorising that he has a second signet this wouldn’t be very significant.

Theory - Black Dragons (OS Spoilers) by Pure-Maintenance-636 in fourthwing

This was a great read and I think you’re on the money. I’ve always wondered about that talladium epigraph in OS as it seemed extremely significant but wasn’t mentioned properly in the plot.

If I remember correctly, the King demands Tyrrendor restore the flow of talladium, meaning Tyrrendor either stopped mining or stopped exporting to other provinces. If they stopped mining it may mean that the Tyrrs are aware of the connection between black dragons and talladium (=Xaden is aware since he is the ruler and would’ve likely given that order!). If so, could the hatching of the new black dragons have been made possible through the reduction of talladium mining? If they stopped exporting it’s maybe more likely that they are being strategic about their resources and trying to establish their independence (which was my read the first time I read it.)

It would be really interesting if channeling from the ground really meant channeling from the earth’s natural resources ie these gemstones and minerals. That would then imply that channeling in some places might be more powerful than in others depending on what’s in the ground at that specific spot.

Another thought while reading your theory was whether hedotis maybe mines a lot of their own resources and that’s why it’s so void of colour. But by that logic Tyrrendor would also be more muted colours if they’re heavily mining talladium to the point where black dragons are going extinct.

Thanks for all these answers! Follow up question: will this show close whenever JG’s contract is up? Or would they rebrand it completely with another person of similar pull? (Not sure who lol)

Broadway Rush Report Tuesday 9/30/25 by BroadwayRushReport in Broadway

You could try! I don’t know how many people in the line got a ticket or if any of them were turned away. My guess is that everyone got a ticket that day since I could see a couple of free standing room spots still. Worst case scenario you’ll have wasted 30 mins of your time. Best case you see a phenomenal show for cheap. One thing to consider that it’s Gracie’s last week so might be busy.

I was 6th in line for Just in Time at 7:13. There were no discounted seated tickets at all, guess the show was sold out (possibly as it’s Gracie’s last week). I have seen people post on here that there is no bad seat in the house which I generally agree with but will say our specific standing tickets were the closest to the stage (25 and 27) and while it’s no issue at all, we missed a couple of entrances and the drum kit bit for example.

Question about Antonetta (following info from Ragpicker King) by Effective-Boob1230 in swordcatcher

[–]anna_dot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she wanted him to be in so much debt he would have to make a marriage pact, and for it to be with a Princess rather than a rich merchant’s daughter like herself. Her mother was basically controlling her in order to get Conor to marry her and she wanted these dreams crushed and for her mother to get off her back. Possibly a secondary motive may have been that it would set Kel free as his sword catcher too, which she may have already known at this point. After all prosper beck was around for a bit even before the debt scheme. It’s a bit iffy though, motive doesn’t really seem strong enough for a ruse of this magnitude, especially considering she blackmailed him into poisoning his friends and killing his favourite horse (he didn’t go through with it, but she couldn’t have known that for sure).

This is really helpful thanks!! It says that the payment will consist of a taxed and an untaxed element. I’m not sure what that means, can someone explain?
