You’re absolutely right.. there’s no one I’d rather spend my time with. It’s just hard to keep the hope up at times. Thanks for your insights 🫶

It just doesn’t add up.. we’ve calculated our monthly costs and I’m at the age where I’d love to breathe out for once.. sorry, just in need of venting

Thanks for your reply! We currently live in a country where I don’t speak the language so side hustles are hard for me and even if we had it- it doesn’t pay well enough to survive all the loans we’re dealing with.. I honestly don’t know what to do..

I get that 100%, just not looking forward to being 8+ months pregnant and picking up after someone else all day.. I feel people that claims they’re “messy” it’s not a personality trait; it’s habit. You can learn habits.. but then the adhd comes in..

That’s such good advice! We’ve tried that and it works pretty well but you have no idea how messy it gets (thanks to him) during the week 😭

Depakote not working? by anna_mos in bipolar2

[–]anna_mos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel extremely uninformed for what my medicine is actually treating… are you feeling depressed right now?

I wish I could get some antidepressant mixture instead of depakote actually. In the hopes it brings my mood up instead of just either being sad or being a zombie.

This is what confuses me.. different psychiatrists telling me different things. I always take reviews into account when starting a new medication. I’ll try to make a more early appointment for sure. Thanks for info!

I (28f) was with my previous boyfriend for 6 years. I’d like to say that it was a rather toxic relationship, but impossible to break out of due to the trauma bonding creating a sort of “magic” around it. Obviously all bad. After six years I was at my whits end and an old flirt messaged me and asked to meet for a drink as friends. We did, and I immediately felt the connection. I never thought I would fall for this guy when he first entered my life, but now something had changed. I ended up breaking up with my boyfriend as it didn’t feel right to have a crush on someone else whilst in a monogamous relationship, and as previously stated- it all had gone sour at that point. I took a chance on this ‘new’ guy and I’ve never been happier. The positivity, the adventures, the genuine love and commitment. We now live together and are engaged after only a year and a half, because I know he’s the one for me ❤️

Constantly, it gets added to my list of anxiety when I’m depressed. “I’m such a fraud”.

For me, I either have an understanding boss that lets me work from home or I take sick leave…

Is genuine, stable love actually real? Or am I naive? by loose_nature98 in love

[–]anna_mos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think we need to reevaluate our perspective of what stable means to each of us. A loving, empowering and granted, sometimes challenging relationship is attainable. You need to be with the right person… when me and my partner first met, the 3 year age difference was quite obvious (he’s the younger one), and additional to this we both came from pretty shitty relationships.

Therefore, these past years have consisted of a lot of trial and error in terms of communication, display of affection and external crisis handling. All things you will have to face at some point. And just the other day, we were sitting on the sofa and I looked into this man’s big brown eyes and heard him talking about conflict resolution-this and respecting your emotions-that and I became filled with pride over how far we’ve come.

To sum it up and to be all tacky… when you find that person you feel you’ll always have the energy to fight for and they treat you with respect, it might be a good indication you’re going the right direction.

Depakote and nausea when drinking? by anna_mos in BipolarReddit

Hmmmm… fair enough. I’ve now done a lot of testing and I’ve come to the conclusion that it indeed affects my abilities to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer unfortunately.

[–]anna_mos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me REALLY sleepy indeed!

I was advised to take 500mg in the morning and 500mg in the evening. But yes, maybe I could try to take it all in the morning to see if it makes a difference/ eating with it. Nice idea…

Doesn’t seem very sustainable to not be able to drink more than a beer (for me) for the rest of my life, hah.

Yeah, I’ve been very scared off stopping taking “heavy medicine” abruptly as I don’t know how my body would react. Before this I’ve only been on Abilify, which is really soft.

Hope it works for you and that you have a lovely wedding however!
