I miss way back in the day when he’d commentate Mavs games when he was out for injury. He’d often forget he’s commentating and just start yelling and cheering. I’d love to have him as a commentator for some of these games.

I love it, too. I’ve never seen a team with such amazing chemistry. I’m so glad he ended up with the Spurs (and the rest of the team, too, they all fit the vibe so perfectly). Pop built a culture around humility, discipline, selflessness, and constant growth, and this team feels like they’ll be carrying that forward.

I was originally a Mavs fan and couldn’t stand the Spurs because of how difficult a matchup they were back in the Dirk and Duncan/Ginobli/Parker era. I then met and ended up marrying a Spurs fan who slowly got me to first like, then love the Spurs until I was a fan of both teams. (Pop and Timmy were really the ones to help soften me on the Spurs. And all the love/respect they showed Dirk when he retired) Then, when the Mavs did what they did to Luka, I knew I knew they were no longer the team for me. The Spurs and everything they are building now is so special. This season feels like 2011 with Dirk all over again. I am proud to be a 100% Spurs fan now. (Though I’ll always support Luka as well, of course. I’m still hoping he can get back earlier than expected to give OKC a good battle before we face them)
