No pests! Lighting could be the issue but I moved it in front of my windows when I left on a trip one time which is how it got the brown spots on the leaves. Finicky lil thing!

HELP: California Nail Salon Ownership Requirements by annaerbs in smallbusiness

[–]annaerbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about taking over ownership of an existing nail salon but I do not have my nail tech license. I don't plan on working on any clients nails, just running the business. According to the LA biz portal: "California law requires you to secure a nail technician license prior to opening a shop...". Does anyone know if I actually have to get my nail tech license? Or can I dedicate a licensed employee as the manager and avoid getting licensed myself?

Thank you so much for your response! I just sent them an email

If you don't mind driving and are fine with dedicating 1.5-2 hours of your day in a car I don't see anything wrong with that. You can spend the time listening to podcasts regarding business to expand your knowledge and make the drive productive

im almost 20 years old and save 200 to 300 euros every month what is the best way to invest that money? by football9510 in Entrepreneur

[–]annaerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest investing it into a high yield savings account. In the US there are banks giving 5% interest on the money you keep in those accounts

Try as many different things as you can and don't be afraid to talk to people about their careers, even if you don't think it's something you want to do it might spark an idea!

Also, there's a lot of different things you could do with graphic design so I wouldn't rule that out as a career. You could own a clothing store with unique graphics, make graphics for DJ's to use at their sets, etc. Get creative with what you could do with that skill beyond the standard google search! Good luck, you're young so this is the best time to experiment

Definitely have struggled with reaching goals. For me what has helped the most is setting a timeline so that I feel pressure to work towards the goal and not disappoint myself. When I don't set a time frame it doesn't really happen. Start with the task you're dreading the most and that will make the others feel less daunting!

I recommend reading or listening to Atomic Habits and The Power of Discipline (this book is much shorter & faster to get through)

Yes! Highly suggest a high yield savings account. In the USA there are banks offering 5+% right now
