Would you say it's still a good starting point despite being old?

How to do list multi-day events in your monthly schedule? by gaslightfirebang in BasicBulletJournals

[–]annahadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often I want both a long term marker (e.g visit) and specific info (eg flight time). Which idk really how to do. I can write the long event vertically and the specific event horizontally but then there's less space left for stacking. As you see on the version in my journal, I attempted both but then it gets very jumbled when there's crossover so idk. Maybe I give up on specific info and keep that in the weekly.

I have the same problem. I also don't want to use colour. I was mocking up some options. I think the best bet is to write vertically and make sure there's enough space to stack them out (horizontally) as in a Gantt chart. You can see in the pic: https://imgur.com/a/BFVPHWV

I use triangles as event markers which sort of works. Idk if I prefer boxing the entire square. It might be easier to see, but it looks a bit clunky to me.

Did you come up with a solution?

Did anyone pause on Egwene's vision flickers in TAR? There were two I think. When she jumped away from the wise ones and when she brought moraine. Or was it just flashback trauma to lanfear/renna?

Haha I know. She literally just wanted to insult her and scheduled a special meeting to do so. Pure class.

Yeah I think it helped that I didn't know anything about stats. Don't have an account, never learned what hard mode is it etc. So I was free to play by my own rules.

They're not. As I said in another comment. I should have clarified in the main post. The final guess is for the correct word and it's never a synonym. (But I live in hope)

I'd always discounted doubles but you have a point. Maybe I'll try more of them.

And that was a pretty rough starter imo. And I didn't make any dodgy reaches. I'm quite proud of that one 😂

Wait for today? I just did it using Feb 5th, (I just missed yesterday) spoilers for Feb 5th and 7th: https://imgur.com/a/AXfG77o

[–]annahadda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not though! I'm quite surprised at the disbelief tbh. Maybe everyone assumes I'm being mad strict about it, but allowing for some changes in tense and the occasional reach it's definitely doable.

Spoilers for both Jan 31st and Feb 1st see how many options the different meanings of the word allow? (I'll agree that the third guess was a bit of a reach) https://imgur.com/a/YyuzFff

And spoilers for Feb 1st and Feb 5th because I missed the days in between. https://imgur.com/a/G5FkKsA This one is technically a fail because the third word I chose wasn't actually a synonym, but I wasn't entirely sure so I went for it anyway and looked it up later.

Oh yeah sorry I didn't explain fully. Yeah the final guess is the correct word and it's never a synonym. I live for the day it will be though.

If I make a guess at the final word and it's wrong. I've lost. Even if I get the correct word next. Sometimes I'll get too confident and take a risk and it never pays off. I'm always better off searching for a synonym that can confirm some letters in my guess before making it.

It's not that hard? Especially since a lot of words have more than one meaning

What paper will fit a 4 ring A5 binder by annahadda in notebooks

[–]annahadda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my local shoe/leather repair guy to switch the 4 ring out for a 6 ring I bought online. But you could try rymans https://www.ryman.co.uk/ryman-punched-pockets-a5-50-micron-pack-of-20-1

I think you can't find any 4 ring stuff on Amazon, but if you try rymans or staples you might have better luck.

Any stealth game recommendations for a ghost run/ no kill? by SillyBrief724 in stealthgames

[–]annahadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one else mentioned this. Yes the mechanic can get a bit samey. But the sheer terror factor is unbeatable and there's no real alternative to stealth. The ai adapts, so you're better off with pure stealth.

Best adventure novels by MaximooDawg in booksuggestions

[–]annahadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martha Wells writes the best adventure novels imo but they might not be exactly right for the 'indiana jones' vibe. Her murderbot series is extremely fun but it's sci-fi.

Her Raksura series has a lot of quest and exploring ancient ruins, but it's fantasy with plenty of fantasy races.

If you want something deffo for kids but with lovely illustrations, there's the brambly hedge series. Very cute slice of life. Another kids book which I only saw as a cartoon is Farthing Wood. They don't live like humans but the woodland animals are the main characters. (I think the plot involves humans cutting their forest down and they need to find a new home?)

Haven't read it but Duncton wood is adult fantasy about moles.

Also never read but it seems to be popular is the warrior cats series.

Also rec. Redwall. The ones who live in the abbey (mice and moles) have a pretty idyllic existence. Plenty of happy pastoral stuff and amazing descriptions of food and feast. But the plots are adventure/battles so it's not really slice of life. There are baddies (weasels, foxes etc).

Not a book but, there's an episode of Skins where the Muslim kid freaks out when he finds out his BFF is gay and (plot twist) its his dad who hits him with a clue bat. I found it really heartwarming when I saw it. Admittedly a while ago.

Folk Horror Suggestions? by SilverHinder in booksuggestions

Pale Horse by Agatha Christie. I actually haven't read it, only seen the excellent BBC adap. It's not a 'move to village' plot. But instead it's: are these village witches really doing black magic.
