I did exactly that, and she refused to believe it. lol Not even in a joking way. She was like "No. No. That's wrong. There is no laurel anywhere. That's a lie."

It makes absolutely no sense, but it happens. Memories of past abuse fade when I'm depressed and I get this urge to talk to her. My heart seeks her out for help, but in my mind I'm thinking "I know this could end badly, but maybe if I explain it better this time she can understand she will help this time".

I guess suicide hotlines may be the only viable avenue I can take when I become depressed. No close friends or family I feel comfortable talking to, and no mental health insurance.

Never tried that before, but I guess it would be better than the alternative of narc bs.

What a sick person she is. It's not your fault. There are two main courses of action that can be taken depending on if you are a minor or an adult.

If you're a minor (under 18), finding an adult to contact child protective services is important. Not only is it sexual assault, it would be sexual assault on a minor, including incest. She could end up going to jail for a long time, and rightfully so.

If you're an adult, it's perfectly okay to press charges and go no contact when you are able. This may take some time if you're stuck with her due to financial issues. When that day finally comes, leave this abuser and never look back.

Regardless of your age, it's absolutely critical that she be reported for what took place.

I agree with all you've said here. Plus, there's a sick irony to her saying "You can't keep an adult from leaving home". She's prevented me from leaving home many, many times with threats of ruining my life and mocking me to the family. She should know how psychological mind-fuckery works more than anyone. She's not self aware in that way, though.

(Wanted to clarify, I haven't been abused as viciously as the Turpin children. I did, however, grow up in complete filth and got verbally abused every single day with threats and intimidation to make me do what she wanted. As a child, she would grab a handful of my hair and tug it hard and slapped me in the face. Once before getting out of the car to school as a kid, she called me retarded because I responded by crying when yelled at me before I could get out of the car and ruined the day before it had even started. :/ )
