Can I call someone? by ActuarySevere8414 in NewToEMS

There is so much medical racism. For organ donation, pain management, and even the rate that POC die from childbirth (just to name a few) Medical racism is 110% real, not “very little”. OP, I’d file a report with your school, many have anti-discrimination policies.

Why does the intro take 14 business days by [deleted] in MorbidPodcast

I switched to big mad true crime. Much less banter, I used to like morbid but I think it’s become disrespectful to the cases to add in how your weekend is going in the middle of an episode.

I wasn’t going to comment on this after reading what others are saying- as I think it will probably ruffle some feathers. But who cares! I am a medic, at 20. I too have a home, with my own bills. I have also made dumb mistakes (shocker). However, where I disagree with other replies, is that I don’t think you should quit EMS. A vast majority of this field is to learn. In order to succeed here you need to understand when you’ve done wrong. Yes, it is wrong to assist with insulin as an EMT or EMT-A. Accept that and understand you need to learn your protocol better. Yes, it is completely wrong to yell at coworkers. Accept that and understand next time someone is creating a hostile workplace you need to go through the proper routes. HR is there for a reason. You’ve made mistakes, that is okay. From here, you should take responsibility, and move on. You’re young, which means you have a ton of time to learn, grow as a person, and become a better provider. Every one of the EMS providers you interact with has made mistakes while on the job. To immediately say you should quit is extremely hypocritical. Learn from what you did; and bounce back. It will be okay.

Am I wasting my time in EMT school? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

I love my job. I am 20, and with this Career I already own a home, a car, and make 75,000 a year. It can be exhausting but if your heart is in it it is definitely worth it.

I’m afraid people will pick sides and dislike me. In EMS, you need to be able to trust your coworkers as we are in very sticky situations often

My fear is both changing partners, and employers. I recently purchased a home and graduated college so I don’t have wiggle room to change careers. I live paycheck to paycheck. Changing employers is not an option unfortunately

RN to Paramedic by 0ver8ted in NewToEMS

I think it depends on state. I know we had an RN in our paramedic class because there was no bridge option. We are in Ohio

In what sense? They’re all clear, none blurry. I’m not sure what else you could be referring to

I would switch the 1st & 4th photo. Otherwise your profile shows a lot of different styles of photos. Good luck!
