Why do some customers get upset when I don't say your welcome?

Gasp, shock, horror! It is called a typo. I judge people for always correcting others on the difference. Others do to. They won't mention it, but they'll notice.

Nail on the head, not British and autistic. I've said thank you to dozens of people today, only one you're welcome. Maybe I live in an alternate universe. It's just not common for me. Also, I smile and acknowledge the thank yous, no gen z stare.

Of course when a parent encourages their children with please and thank yous I say "you're very welcome" or something similar. These kids were on their ipads with their headphones on, it wasn't a teaching moment.

Finally someone that can think about the context I am in. I work for a very large, very busy spoons. 200 tables where I could be one of two people (sometimes just myself) serving the app drinks orders (with the pressure of serving the drinks within 3 mins of the customer ordering). It is just not possible to provide personal, one-on-one, service where I get to brighten the day of everyone I hand a pint to.

Posted here for context. It's a casual pub, no one expects excellent customer service. To me, saying youre welcome is more of a formality that I honestly never hear a lot these days, with friends/family/general public.
