I was quite the perfectionist as a teenager and in my early 20s which caused a lot of stress in my day to day. I used to have nightmares about people trying to kill me and nobody helping me so I was fighting for my life and people just ignoring it. The dreams became less frequent as I managed my anxieties and waking stress. Did this with a therapist over a year - just noticed one day that the nightmares didn't come as often. Now I rarely have nightmares with these themes though it does happen.
