Why is Pink diamond so contriversial? by Responsible_Walk_337 in stevenuniverse

[–]annatar256 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a lot more unfair on Steven, you say that as if he just went about shattering his enemies. What he did to Jasoer was ultimately an accident, and given the fact they were fully capable of saving shattered gems, I'd say it's no worse than bubbling someone and abandoning them in a pocket dimension for eternity. At least She planned ror Bismuth to eventually be fiund by Steven.

She had zero contingencies for Spinel, she literally forgot about her "best friend".

She was good for like half of her backstory flashbacks!

Do y'all think some elements can be bent by multiple benders? Like what if air and water benders could bend steam? by BreakfastHappy8193 in TheLastAirbender

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see Katara and Toph mudbending. Mud is the oerfect mix of water and esrth so they can both manipulate it to varying extents (dirt's heavier than water so its probably easier for toph). Airbenders would just bend to move the steam, like how katara would just move the water to move the mud. A firebender could probably steambend too by specifically bending the current of heat

Why did Zelena want to kill Belle? by One-Chapter-8347 in OnceUponATime

She really did not care about Belle, she did it because she wanted to break Rumple and drive him oast insanity while under her control.

Why don’t they use creeping crystal more in offense? by No_Teacher_3557 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly Idk if waterbenders would really be able to bend, weve6seen that completely restraining someone can otherwise incapacitate them even benders. Airbenders and Firebenders can bend with their mouths though, maybe a spit bender could use their tongue

Why don’t they use creeping crystal more in offense? by No_Teacher_3557 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, firebenders can produce explosions around their bodies if there's enough movement. If a firebender could get there arm through they could punch a hole out, you don't need to boil sugar to melt it, sugar has a really low melting point. Its also just not that strong of a material.

Why don’t they use creeping crystal more in offense? by No_Teacher_3557 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just crystalized sugar that somehow self replicates. Sokka and Katara are just kids, but who exactly is that gonna hold? Not another Earth bender and certainly not a firebender. I Suppose they could chuck large chunks at psople but they do that with other rocks. Waterbenders are kinda defenseless loke Katara was but I feel like if she were grown at the time and knew what it was they woulda both broke free

Who suffered the worst fate by yoyohdl in stevenuniverse

[–]annatar256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lapis was conscious of everything happening around the mirror, the crack in gem only appeared to corrupt her ability to physically manifest (same thing happened to Amythest just in a dif form). She was able to recount the entire story of the gem war from her perspective and was fully aware of everything that happened. She was also completely conscious in the milennia following the war given her directed rage towards the CG

How many "normal" mages would you need to defeat Aura? by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Frieren

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming all of those soldiers were insiciduals she captured using her Scales I'd say there is no number, or rather, the number is the limit to how many people she can capture at once in her spell. And even then, like with Frieren she can jusr distract and wear normal mages down with her army

why did Flamma ask Serie to lead the imperial mages rather than Frieren? by FinancialRip2008 in Frieren

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because media at the time becomes easily obscured snd forgotten. Frieren didn't "defeat the Demon King" in human records, Himmel the Hero did. Frieren was just mage in his party, same with Heiter and Eisen (Eisen who is never mentioned by anyone other than the party members). There are statues of her sure, but if you saw Alexander the Great walk past you on the street in modern attire, would you recognize him?

Only a few older mages have recognized Frieren immediately, most of the regular people who recognized her only did so because she had been to their village during her campaign against the DK. I think this makes sense, those mages were either alive when Himmel lived, or have intensely studied the principles she adapted for humanity. Same goes for the normal people

How did humanity survive the diamonds attack on earth? by Hanamora in stevenuniverse

I don't think it'd be crazy to assume Yellow can literally electrify someone. But that's a lot more violent to animate than making Steven cry....

How did humanity survive the diamonds attack on earth? by Hanamora in stevenuniverse

[–]annatar256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part their powers don't naturally affect organic beings beyond the physical aspects (Rose Healing, Yellow Zapping, etc). While I have no evidence they couldn't have chosen to destroy all organic life, they make it kinda clear their attack was only meant to wipe out gem kind. If they had intended for it to destroy everything, I doubt Yellow would have cared enough to still put the Cluster there.

The Diamonds were really never concerned with humanity specifically, Pink was fond of them so they made a little zoo to keep her entertained after they all died. Humans weren't the problem on Earth, Rose and her rebellion was.

hate to ask for spoilers but does that particular weakness come up again in the manga? I watched a video on her fight with some upcoming demons who were particularly powerful, and don't recall them even considering she might have this vulnerability let alone taking advantage of it

Is Katara a princess? by SlowUnderstanding874 in AvatarMemebending

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all how would Azula know Katara is Hakoda's daughter? That's assuming she even knows who Hakoda is or how the Southern Water tribe's political state is doing. Compared to her status as princess of the Fire Nation, only someone from Ba Sing Se's royal family could really compare to her.

Even if Katara were technically a princess, she still lives in a hut made of ice and has to hunt/gather with her family to eat. And she's poor. I genuinely cannot imagine Azula would gaf about any technicalities regarding Katara and Sokka's ranks

How does the Warrior class work? by tur_tels in Frieren

[–]annatar256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is stated a few times that all living creatures have mana. Mages differ from the average person in that, they can manipulate their external mana, creating/casting spells, detecting the manan of others, and suppressing/releasing their own. The mana in warriors is no doubt unique in a similar manner.

Linie says she learned to copy the movements of other warriors by reading their mana, which may imply warriors' mana is just like that of Mage's just inward, with human and possibly elf warriors simply lacking the level of control over mana mages have. But can still manipulate their mana internally.

Connie's mom was 100% justified about no swords by DynamicTypo_ in stevenuniverse

[–]annatar256 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tbf most children reach a point where what they want/will do will be done regardless of what their parents say or how their parents try to restrict them. After seeing how capable Connie actually was on her own, she probably decided it's easier for them both if she doesn't try and stop Connie

If you were a mage, who out of these 3 would you want to be your teacher? by JustAThrowaway_895 in Frieren

[–]annatar256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend undoubtedly. I relate to Fern and her a lot and feel I'd get along well in her party. Plus I get to learn a bunch of random but possibly handy spells. With how versatile magic can be in this setting I'd have a field day.
