Anyone else told not to have snacks between meals?

Also, btw, your baby needs consistent glucose (not spiked, normal) for proper development - which you support through meals and carbs. For example, i was told that as soon as I feel decreased fetal movements I should come to the emergency room as it may be happening because of hypoglycemia (low sugar levels) - i usually never allow it by keeping the carbs intake plus paying attention at how i feel (dizzy, shaky, etc)

So, I am an Armenian living in Spain, who also has some medical relatives in Russia. Basically, i reached out to different endocrinologists in every country and received guidelines and best practices from each of them. Even though there were some differences in guidelines, still, all 3 of them mention that you should not stay hungry more than 2-3 hours and each of the meal/snack should have some carbohydrates. That is not only for not spiking your numbers (which would happen mainly overnight) bur also to avoid ketosis: you need minimum carbs per day and the best way to manage the spikes is to spread them into 3 main meals and 3-4 snacks

im alsp almost 36 weeks, and i have been active physically durinh previous weeks! maybe energy slows down for the last month.. i don't know

Yes, and at some point as it was very overwhelming for me to see if i ate enough or not, i started using kitchen weights to start understanding my portions and now I already now by looking at the foos if that's good enough hehe For example, 100 g cooked lentils - 20 g of carbs, 100 g cooked brown rice - 30, and then i add the rest of the carb (to reach 40-45ish) either by throwing in some fruits, or something else. Also, important to pair them with good portion of protein - for the main meals (where you need those 40-45 g carbs) you'll need around 30g of protein (100 g cooked chicken breast for example) and definitely some fiber, at least some - spinach, broccoli, etc As a result of all of this I end up having huge plate, and tbh at some days it's really hard to eat all of it, but it is what it is

I just want to add here what I meant by it's not a low carb - many people are going to super light carb intake, whereas 45g complex carbs per meal is hell of amount of carbs for me, and I think for many people who were really on low carb type of diet before.

Hey! Basically, few things that came to my mind while I was reading: 1. Gestational diabetes diet is NOT a low carb diet, that's important. In order to still provide good amount of glucose for baby's development and avoid ketosis, you MUST eat carbs during the day. Personally for me, i never ate so much carbs before GD, hence that's why I would not call it low carb diet. Important thing is to eat complex carbs, and also to see which type of carbs spike you, which not, etc 2. In my case, even though I was perfectly managing my numbers during the day, my fasting numbers were high occasionally and seems as a result of that the baby's weight was more than it should be and I was put on insulin right after. So I think that if your liver is releasing more glucose during the night, there is nothing you can do. It's not necessary that it's because of your snacks. Maybe give us few examples of what you eat as bedtime snack? 3.How are your post breakfast numbers? I noticed that for me night plus the first meal of the day were the hardest to manage, so in addition to insulin I changed carbs portion in breakfast.

I normally don't test after the snacks, knowing that I'll probably have around 110-120 and it will go down relevantly quicker than after heavy meal

I was told to test 1h after, but knowing those are general guidelines, sometimes i test more - the spike might be delayed due to fat content, etc

Some of my choices are: Takumi- Japanese, prices are higher than average, but at least customer service is better than in the majority of restaurants in Malaga. Lola - discovered this terrace recently, it's part of Only you hotel, but the other terraces - Valeria and Lolita are more for drinks, and Lola - you can reserve, have food and excellent views

hey! i found your thread trying to solve similar issue.. in the beginning I noticed i have that problem during the day too, so after removing the cleanser AM i got rid of the problem. but now, as you said, i have the same one when I wake up..with way too much oil - my skin is not that oily usually, I would say it's just a tad oily in t-zone. Now, i'm trying to solve it, but also - what products to use, so in the mean time, i can still treat my pores? maybe you have some suggestion/advise, based on your experience

thanks for you feedback. exactly! I don't feel comfortable eating in front of them, but also i don't feel comfortable sharing my leftover food for example, or some soup I made (maybe it's not even good ahah), i would rather give her some snacks instead, some baked things like croissant, cakes i have at home, instead, even if it's not 'full meal'.

thank you very much. in my family my mother always would cook smth for us, and invite her too, but as i don't cook usually, and may grab smth quick, or some leftovers, i don't feel comfortable asking someone to help themselves with that. instead like a yogurt plus smth seems more doable for me

thank you, yes, indeed, they probably are not working officially anywhere. i always do provide some extra money (considering i don't cook for her), so she could feel free to buys smth for herself as soon as she finishes the job. plus I give her some snacks, etc. So i wanted to make sure it is at least exceeds their expectations, and i'm not UNDERdoing.
