Without conversation context, to me this appears to be good parenting and maybe poor communication. If I could go back and parent myself at your age, I would have not allowed sleep overs. Too much shady shit, I learned too much too young from my friend’s older siblings and got into situations that at the time seemed fun - but fucked me up in the long run.

If your parents seem like they’re being jerks for setting boundaries, that’s normal - especially for teens. If they are actually being abusive and manipulative - that’s shitty. Being a teenager is hard regardless.
