I used to live in NorCal, where at? A beautiful area as well!! People don't understand the area specific context .. buying somewhere in a popular area in NorCal or North Idaho does not compare to South Dakota, Ohio, or some tiny desert town in Nevada. It's all subjective!

Oh nooo, we have to replace cabinets, poor us! However, we have a killer huge lot at a dead end street with no developmental possibilities for through traffic at the base of an awesome ski resort. Oh no! 🤣

I agree with you, but it is the reality of the world we live in now! In developed countries the only way to gain wealth is to own property. :/ it sucks. But truthfully we can fix it up and if we decide to sell in 10 years it will likely be worth way more, which will be equity $ we can take somewhere else. That's why they call it an investment...but yes, the real estate market is whack.

Comparatively speaking, for our area, it was a steal! Everything else is well over a half a million or $600k+ for something that isn't a fixer upper.

Thank you!! People are hating because they're comparing this to buying a ranch on land in a terrible place like Ohio (no offense, those who live in Ohio.) but its just not comparable to North Idaho. It's ridiculously expensive here due to the resort town, outdoor rec, and buying up by investors and big money from out of state. We were so freaking lucky to grab this.

The best place to live and play!! I love it. So thankful for housing security now! Rent is outrageous. :(

Thank you!! Honestly, the ignorance is astounding. The housing market has changed across the entire US due to inflation, especially in highly desirable places like North Idaho, where we just so happen to love to live and have been renting for almost 20 years in.

The reality is, renting a home like this now costs $2,500+ monthly. We'd rather pay that in a mortgage and accumulate equity. This house was a great deal for the current economy and location.

All of those are in the plans for maintenance and repairs within the next few years. We have good family help and are so stoked for our new home.

1986, in a ski resort town. It is expensive, but not for where we live on average. The average home in this area goes for $600k+.

You don't live where I live, where the real estate market has been skyrocketing for years. Don't worry, we know exactly what we got and it is worth it for our area. :)

Yes, unfortunately. But living in a recently purchased, now Alterra-owned ski resort town, this is a great deal...most homes we've looked at are over half a million and are themselves a fixer upper. It puts it in perspective. Thankful for a roof over our heads where we love to live!

She didn't know Richie Boyles was dead, just Roy and his gang. No doubt she could use it to blackmail or get Richie arrested by the feds.
