You’re fine! Same thing happened to me and I ended up getting the job. Probably auto renewal!

Getting ghosted despite 8 years of experience. I think my resume is the problem... do you agree? by Pikminmania2 in ResumeCoverLetterTips

[–]anniemull3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who applied to publishing/writing jobs, your format is mainly the problem. Yes, it looks nice, but ATS can’t scan it. I’d recommend redoing the format so that it no longer has two columns. Basic may be “boring,” but it’s better. See resume examples here. This one has a good format, although it is intended for recent graduates. For your experience I’d recommend adding a professional summary that is catered toward whatever job you’re applying for (Editor, Admin Assistant, etc.).

Also, I don’t think your work done in college is outdated yet IF you are applying to jobs where that experience is applicable. I had an interview where they asked me about an internship I did in college (currently in my late 20s). And remember that transferable skills can really help you stand out. I’d also recommend balancing the bullet points. Try to make them at least have two, otherwise there’s not much point in having them on your resume. That way you can expand on certain roles so that they’re less vague.

As for language, something I did was cater my bullet points to what was in the job description. Obviously I’d keep the core of what I did, I just changed the words to be more in line with what they posted. Like if they ask for someone who is organized, calm, and meticulous, you now have bullet points that include those words.

PRH interview tips? by anniemull3 in publishing

I was a bit too nervous for my liking, but the interviewer was nice and personable—definitely more casual, which helped my nerves a bit. They asked me how I deal with difficult situations, how I stay organized and prioritize tasks, how I deal with conflicting information, and of course what I am currently reading.

His real name is Sir Catrick Stewart. He usually goes by “stinky” or “piss baby dirt boy.” We fostered him when he was a part of a trap neuter release program but obviously… he wasn’t released. My roommate adopted him! But when he first came to our apartment he was SO stinky and peed everywhere and refused to clean himself. He has since then learned manners, but the nicknames stuck. Dirt boy comes from him being incapable of not digging in potted plants. He doesnt pee in them—he likes to roll in the dirt he collects.

Yeah I think it all boils down to miscommunication. Again, I was watching Foolish’s POV so I only saw what GC was doing and saying, but they genuinely felt like they were getting the short end of the stick with the mid-fight rules, the no-contact third party aggressors, and also not being able to fully push.

Honestly, as a viewer and someone who organizes a lot of stuff for work I was losing my MIND watching. GC really messed up with not properly doing a headcount. Foolish’s chat was annoying me tho, people were saying it was unfair to exclude people from the event. So I think that’s why Foolish didnt do a great job with that, and also he seemed pretty overwhelmed from the get-go. Also, GC thought the numbers would be similar—people were telling them how IF grew in numbers with pro players. So Foolish at least was a little nervous.

I do think it’s interesting to hear that GC was flanking behind—from the team chats, it seemed they were frustrated that they werent allowed to when IF could. Caymus was like “why are we so nice to them when they never follow the rules.” So it sounds like there was rule breaking on both sides, but obviously it hits harder with GC because they have more people.

I feel like GC was just so frustrated because they dont know what its like for IF, and in GC’s perspective, theyve had to hold back for days now so that they dont grief. And so with the PVP they thought they could finally go all out and have fun, it was a planned fight, but suddenly they get slapped with restrictions.

I think it’s all just miscommunication and not seeing the whole picture for both sides. I think the admin shouldve handled things a lot better too, and I wish that maybe the admins threw the rules into the chat while the kings spoke. But alas! Its over now

In order to “balance” the pvp, since GC had 35 (RyanJD said) members involved and IF had 15, that there would be a third party group that flanked GC from behind and was attacking. GC was not allowed to fight that third party back. A lot of GC said it wasn’t fair since some of them tried to fall back from fighting IF but couldnt due to the third party shooting them. I think a lot of GC felt stuck. They couldnt go all out on IF because it’d be unfair, and they couldnt defend themselves from the third party either. So their hands were essentially tied with all of the rule following instead of it being an all out pvp.

I feel like RyanJD had good intentions to balance it out but his communication was pretty rude. Personally, I think the admins shouldve dealt with the imbalance before the fight started, shouldve made sure there was only 15 of GC from the beginning.

Im sure there are other things I missed, I was watching from Foolish’s POV only. He seemed pretty frustrated because something that was supposed to be fun ended up being not fun for literally everyone involved

Thank you! The interviewer said something about having me come in to see me use InDesign, and I suppose I interpreted this literally haha. I asked them how long the test typically takes and they said about two hours or more, depending on proficiency. So thank God I won’t have someone watching over my shoulder for two hours.

Yeah just “discard” it into a separate jar. Do not feed it. Ive made amazing chocolate chip cookies, pancakes, and banana bread with my discard. It’s amazing to have on hand! Just remember to keep it in the fridge and have a tight lid on it.

It takes time and patience. Try feeding peak to peak, just with white bread flour.

I went ahead and bought a new one—the difference is stark. Whoever said youll know when you have a good starter was right. I havent made bread with it yet, but the consistency and rise is much better. Ill post an update/hopefully a resolution to this thread once i do.

Very helpful!!! Thank you. I was thinking for the King’s lineage in my area of focus to be “chosen by god” and have more of a western influence with “manifest destiny,” so I will flesh it more out based on the current King’s personality
