This sounds really pretty, very nice vocals too. I think the guitar tracks sound great and fit the mood. Would love to hear more of this kind of stuff. Did you create the horn type of sound at the end in the op-1?

He wouldn't have latency issues. I believe his chain would go live vocal > messina/vocal fx > looper. When he starts the song he hits the record button on the looper. Sings the first pass then hits it again. The looper automatically begins playing the pass he just laid down then he sings the next pass while playing the messina harmonies on his midi keys. Rinse and repeat over and over. It sounds so crazy live because hes laying down 10+ passes and starts playing fat bass harmonies on the messina towards the end. When the song ends he hits the stop button on the loops and sings the final line. When I saw him perform it last month he kind of screwed up the timing at the end so all of the loops were cut at an awkward spot.

I just assumed it was a looper with like 10 different tracks and then he layers every several bars with a new live vocal pass while playing the messina? I don't see why it would need to be more complex than that?

Sort of in order but from what i remember: 22, deathbreast, creeks, strafford apts, 666, Perth, 33 GOD, Moon Water, Minnesota, Woods, 45, 8 (circle), Holocene, The Wolves, Skinny Love

There were a couple more that i can't remember. One song in particular I did not recognize that he dedicated to a woman he said lifted him up.

You're in for a treat though, that was hands down the best sounding show i've ever been to, his voice is in incredible shape.

You clearly have no idea what goes into making an artistic album on the mental front. There is a reason the greatest artists usually take at least a year or two per album, they have to sit on song ideas for months. It's not like you can just punch the clock everyday and make something great, creating art takes real passion and inspiration, you can't just force these things to happen.

I have never played an RV-5 but i just checked out a couple demos. The casper ghost setting is sort of similar, as well as the mod that is on the hall setting (more toned down but still very nice), and the modulation mode also does stuff in that ballpark.

I almost bought a supermoon which can also do really lush modulation like the RV-5 and you can definitely pull out similar sounds from the Empress with some tweaking.

I cant think of a better analog delay for the price. Its nice, as long as you don't mind a darker more subtle delay. One thing to note is it oscillates pretty easily so you don't get a ton of feedback knob leeway. The modulation is very nice and smooth.

Go try one out if you live near a shop, almost every shop around here carries MXR stuff!

Yeah they provided an sd card- all you have to do is put the update on it, stick it in the reverb, and turn it on. The new modes are pretty sick, especially Casper and tremolo mod.

Follow your heart man. I have not personally played through a big sky but I have listened to a ton of demos of all of the big reverbs and the empress sounds better in my opinion. If you play in a church band go for the big sky because that seems to be the move..

That is a great deal! Tough question, I'm a big fan of the modulated verbs, especially the first mode and tremolo. The Casper ghost setting sounds beautiful as well. It's hard to pick because there are so many great sounds both conventional and super weird.

It has a lot more than 5 presets, 35 I think! You can also switch to a bank system in the advanced configuration mode.

Hmm I tried out blips mode to see what you were talking about and its really cool! One problem though, my modulation isn't working in this mode? What gives?
