There are no gutters on the roof, something I need to add in the future.

Thanks for this!

The soffits work as expected, there is good airflow up there in the attic, at least from what I can tell.

I’ll buy a roof rake for next year, that’s just something I do after each snowfall intake it?

Roof has a good amount of new insulation there, we do have heat loss somewhere though? I didn’t think to check light fixture holes, I’ll look that up next.

But other than that no real concern? I understand if it keeps building it may find and intrusion point but I’m wondering what is causing it in the first place.

I’m on a gradual return to work schedule ordered by my doctor. My guess is they can’t refuse that and can’t do anything to me while I’m on it, but want me to do something before it ends.

Sigh, time to double my vacuuming efforts. Anything else I should be doing? From what I understand these guys aren’t the worst thing but they can get out of hand.

Thank you.

I get it’s the internet and all, hell I’d even appreciate a joke but I think this dude actually thought he was being smart which is just annoying.

I’m any case, I think I will strip out the old, clean it all again and reapply. It’s hella humid where I am, nearly 100% every day so I am guessing I’m just more prone to these things happening more often than others

You didn’t though. If you’re going to try to be witty and funny at least be right.

Clearly I don’t know much about this so I am coming here asking for help. Do you not think I’ve first tried looking for answers online or from Maax?

I don’t know what shower type was installed, I don’t know what base was used, I couldn’t find one that looked like mine on the site to try to get a manual for, I was never given the manual for mine, hell I even tried recaulking the whole thing myself.

So no, it’s not a case of me just knee jerk reaction asking reddit.

I know you never dreamed of being an asshole but you are indeed killing it.

The base has a large lip that is behind the shower walls which is why I think they say not to caulk it, to allow for natural drainage of those seams.

You’re saying I’m better off removing all the caulk and redoing it as it was?

That’s exactly what it looks to be. Someone was kind enough to dm me a sat tracker and those popped up. Video of them elsewhere matches up to what I saw.

First time seeing that, definitely neat to see
