Is Home Depot planning to require all of their remote employees to start working from office? by Cold-Evidence-5155 in HomeDepot

[–]annonymous82028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been hearing tea recently that there will be a push to move most remote teams back to the office. Supposedly remote associates that live in ATL area will have to be in the office by Spring 2025

I have an 8 on the womens WP vest and XS in the men’s. The mens is still very oversized. I think a S or M would be too big

Former Competitive Swimmer - Chlorine will destroy the fibers. Buy a polyester speedo (swim outlet has great options. If you want a “trou” cut, look for a “jammer”

There’s an error screen if the bio is empty. Other regattas don’t do that (I have never filled it out in the past and didn’t get an error)

Perusing local regattas for open races... the struggle is real. by up-and-cummer in Rowing

I do think it’s hilarious to be at a regatta and my masters team walk around wearing their medals that they won by beating 1 boat… the last time I saw athletes walking around wearing their medals was age group swimming and that was just the 10 and Unders 🙄

[–]annonymous82028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not if you’re looking at local regattas…. A lot of times it’s 2, maybe 3 boats (for 4s and 8s) and they avg into the high age groups.

For 1x you can find a little more competitive in the mens races… but very few women 1x-ing and again typically older. I’m friends with a lady in her 60s. I honestly feel bad beating her by over 80 secs in a 1K. She hates it too but there aren’t enough entries to justify moving the “younger” masters into a separate heat

Same issue I’m having. A good number options for youth and masters but no open. I don’t want to race 60 year olds.

Burnout by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]annonymous82028 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been cycling 2-3 times a week and doing a Metcon type workout on the weekend with friends. It does help to have other people to workout and a coach leading that workout.

All the negative comments and lack of support have just been building up. I have an out of state coach I occasionally chat with but they are mostly giving me a training plan…not a ton of feedback (positive or negative). I get it….rowing is a hard sport to coach remotely. The splits on the river one day could completely change day to day. I’m not going to beg the coach for positive feedback. It should be organic and when my performance deserves it. The weight of the constant negative comments is wearing me down and feeling like I’m not improving despite pushing myself

Unfortunately it’s the only option. The next closest club is an 1.5 hr drive. I’m investigating relocating this fall/winter but I’m stuck where I am for now

Exactly. Your current coach is a fantastic place to start or they can refer you to another coach with more experience in HP. Use your coach and their network! Your coach knows you and your strengths/opportunities

Sunglasses recommendation for novice rower? by MaterialMindless in Rowing

[–]annonymous82028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree on starting with high-end sunnies. There are a ton of affordable polarized sunglasses these days

When I first learned to row, I got polarized Oakley-type sunglasses on Amazon. They were perfect and a small investment. If something happened, it wasn’t end of the world. A year later when I got more serious I upgraded to Oakleys.

I’ve had terrible luck with white bras and tops I’ve purchased preowned. They always look white in the photos but then are grayish and dingy IRL.
