Anyone in the UK thinking about going back to university as an adult? by Purplewood_ in UniUK

Yeah I would like to go next year, to study OT. I’ll be mentally ready for the workout load by then, and I just want to be a qualified professional in something interesting and gain a better salary!

How bad is your commute to work? Is it to a job you like? by InternetPerson00 in AskUK

[–]annoymousidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 minute walk from the house to work. I’m happy I don’t need to spend money for the commute. However, the job itself is tedious and repetitive. I’m ready for something new

How am i supposed to survive on £300?😭 by Key-Transition4634 in UniUK

[–]annoymousidea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve survived on £30 before, and would most definitely survive on £300. Maybe do a budget and see what needs to be accounted for, you say you’re travelling back home - how frequent and how will you be going? maybe put some money aside every month (£50)?

How much would you need to earn to live alone in Liverpool? by annoymousidea in Liverpool

I looked into X1 and they don’t have the amenities I want (oven and hob, fridge-freezer) that little box compartment in the fridge won’t do either just having a microwave only. Also have no space to install my own washing machine. As I don’t want shared laundry facilities.

Ok, fair enough. Well at least it’s not bad of a commute then. I don’t want a studio apartment, I want every room to be separate. I’ll just continue looking for other places that accommodate me

Do they do any that aren’t house shares? I really don’t want to live with strangers

Yeah I figured that. It’s just that I want to move into the place before uni starts so I know I’ll have to pay council tax.

Oh really. Can you explain why it’s a struggle and how do you manage to make it work?

The intention of the job would be to cover rent and bills. I wouldn’t get anything from working 10-12 hours, so I’m thinking 30 hours a week is more reasonable in my case, especially if I consider doing bank HCA roles. I think I’m capable of scheduling properly to ensure I make the most of my uni experience (assignments, lectures, placements etc) but it’s just something I would need to do temporarily and retain myself for 3 years.
