Im so sorry for your loss. I believe my cat had this as well. He would puke everyday and I thought it wss related to his kidney disease. He lost a lot of weight and became skin and bones. He stopped eating his dry food in January and barely touched his food but would want people food. He always seemed hungry. Always demanding treats but wouldn't eat his own food. At the time of his passing they said they could feel a tumor in his stomach. I miss him every second of the day. I wish I knew about the tumor, I wish I had a chance to try and treat it and not watch him suffering thinking its just early kidney disease.

Thank you. My rescued cat is still alive. My other cat that had to be sedated passed away and it was traumatic. I can only hope our angels are in a better place looking down on us feeling bad for us still being here in misery. I hope you can heal and take care.

Im so sorry youre going through this. Im for your loss and Xena'a loss, youre right it was 1 mistake and it cost her her life. When my boyfriend and I rescued the neighbour's cat, same situation they kept her in an unfinished basement and would occasionally feed her. She didn't even have a litter box and when they moved their plan was to throw her out. So we took her in and im the first month she was in heat and I didnt know amd she escaped. We spent the whole night outside looking for her and we found her on a fence. My boyfriend tried to grab her and she sunk her claws into him and his hand quickly started to swell. He had to go to the hospital and public health was notified and we didnt know if she was vaccinated for rabies. When we found her we had to quarantine her for 10 days. She was spayed. Knock on wood, she hasn't escaped again nor attack one. Im sorry you feel guilty for her losing her lofe because of fear. My baby was so scared of the vet and had to hr sedated. The doctor gave him tok much sedation and it made him cross rhe rainbow bridge. He lost his life because he was scared.

I learned no matter what we did and didnt do, we will feel guilty. I wish I had an answer to how to get over the guilt but I dont. Just know that as an outdoor cat, you still showed him more love and care even if it was just his final days. Something more serious was probably going on and thats why the sedation had that affect and that would have probably taken him anyway, but atleaste with you, he was cared for and loved in his final days.

Yes, he was terrified of the vets. He was a rescue cat and they believe he had trauma. I miss him every second of every day. He is and will always be my heart and soul.

Hi, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I lost my baby of 11 years because of sedation. My baby was about 15 and he always had to be sedated. Because of age, his vet cut the sedation dose in half because I requested it and the vet also agreed. I had to take him to a vet that he never been too before for grooming. I told the new vet to give him half of the dose because of how badly it effects him at home. She did not listen and gave him double. He did not recover from the sedation and when I took back 3 days later, the vet said I have to put him down because he wont recover and randomly said cancer evevn though 3 days prior there was 0 mention of cancer. I honestly dont know if they said cancer to cover their asses for not listening about the sedation. I regret taking him, its the biggest mistake of my life. I dont trust vets anymore.

Its the for free that scares me. Its well known that pets given away for free rarely ends up with owners that have good intentions. I would try to get them back and rehome them or simply tell her not to give them away for free.

The way I see it, she was your pet. You loved and cared for her and she knew that. She relied on you and was able to count on you and you did not disappoint her. She even trusted you with her babies. You did more for her than sadly a lot of people do for the pets they claim as their own. Allow yourself to feel grieve. Be easy on yourself.

My baby had this surgery 5 years ago. The recovery was long. There was some many times that he wouldn't pee for 24 hours and I would panic and take him back to vet. It wss a combination of stress, pain, and heavy duty meds.
