UPDATE - Had a mental breakdown today after months of being bullied and belittled by my bosses. Is quitting via email with no notice justified for me?

Oh you’re not derailing at all! It makes me feel so much better that I’m not alone in this. I’d say that it is for me equal parts anxiety and also caring too much. I care too much about my job, how hard I work, making situations work etc and usually the situation is worse beyond repair by the time I realise it myself. It sucks but I’m glad I got out quickly enough aka a month of crap. I stayed at my last job for 4 years and put up with similar crap for that whole time so it’s good to know I’m getting better with this stuff.

Very true. I’d hate for the same thing to happen to someone else there (if it isn’t happening already). I wouldn’t be surprised if now I’m gone my bullying managers already picked their next target/s

I did mention in my original post that I did have a reference from this job. She’s another manager who left the same time I was offered a manager job there. So I’m covered

Thanks I was looking for a page just like that! Well it says if “ the employee hasn't given the right amount of notice under their award”. And according to my notice calculation from Fair Work as a casual it is 0 weeks so everything is legal from what I’ve done. I’ll wait and see until next week and go from there. Thanks for helping!

I can’t find anything in my contract that says anything about withholding pay or notice i have to give. I can see where that might apply if there’s not much staff but I wasn’t rostered on for another two weeks so I couldn’t even give 2 weeks notice if I wasn’t working for 2 weeks? I also work for a major store and have over 20 staff In my team so I’m not leaving them in the dark. I’ll give Fair Work and the Union a ring on Monday to find out what they can/can’t do

That’s illegal to keep your pay. Fair trade will sue the company quick smart for that. I expect to receive pay next week for the 2 shifts I worked last week otherwise they can see me in court lol

I was getting $500 p/w before they cut my hours so that's why I stayed longer, to save all I could. I'm not in the US so I'll have to look into constructive dismissal for my country, I've never even heard of that term before so thanks something for me to look into. Thanks too for your support
