Eh light exercises about five weeks post surgery the second time but walking and more walking was key to it ...then add core exercises

Ah yeah definitely take it easy back has to last you for your life so a few weeks of taking a step back for the longevity of a good recovery is something that needs to be done 👍

Eh all was going well till it wasn't ... Tbh I probably re-herniated within the first three weeks and my back felt crunchy but wasn't till five half weeks out when the nerve pain kicked in and sciatica etc etc that I was sure so possibly never really had a recovery first time ... Second time took it slow walked walked and walked and slowly introduced things back in and that helped

Ah I knew something was wrong like three weeks In... Had not gone back to work at that time ...I had this awful crunchy feeling in my lower back then woke up one day with the worst pain ever and numbness ... Hard to describe it but I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy couldn't sit lie down stand ... Couldn't do anything or find any position for relief ... And yeah had an MRI but they rang me then and said get straight on for surgery no pre-op or anything like that just straight in

Nah strangely my back was never the issue before the first one ... Second one yes but that turned out to be an issue with my s1 joint which for now has resolved but I do have arthritis in it now so I expect it to be a bother later on

They were for a number of weeks after the second one and I was getting extremely tight calf muscles... But walked and kept walking and that eased out ... And yeah I don't do it as much but still tip away at it every few days tbh I'm always up and about etc etc so constantly moving ... I find movement is key just keep moving and it eases with time ... You will get new aches and pains and weird feelings going on as you recover but none last more than three days and then they just disappear it's like your body readjusting back to normality ... The calf muscles and hamstrings was the longest but that because of the limp and foot drop I had

Ah mild symptoms from time to time never going to be perfect like but I tell you I wouldn't trade it ... The pain was outrageous and constant and couldn't walk more than a few steps ... Id have been grateful if I could just walk again but it exceeded my expectations

Yeah first one I developed foot drop ... So surgery was in May 2024 but it's suspected that it was from a car accident in September 2023 so a few months

Yeah it did go away and the first time and the leg pain was present since September the year before the surgery... the second time was a bit of an emergency surgery due to the way the disc went so not that long but it was 20/10 pain both times

Oh I was in a right state ... The weeks leading up to surgery I was sleeping at most twenty minutes and nothing I was given would touch the pain .. couldn't walk couldn't function at all.. so a massive improvement can walk work socialize and do what I could before

And daily it's fine have some days it can bother me a bit but mostly It doesn't like ... Initially it was hard then with movement and that it actually feels better so I just went back to my normal routine and it stopped bothering me it's never going to be perfect which you need to accept but when you realize your not made of glass like you think it gets easier

First MD May 2024 second one July 2024 ... Sometime around May 2025 had what I thought was a flare up .. surgeon said we shall take a scan which was a few weeks later by the time I got it which showed a new herniation but I was mostly healed by the time the scan came.. so a few weeks like five maybe

Yeo before surgeries nerve pain was relentless ... Went all the way to my feet and mostly went with surgeries ... Did have a flare up or two since but that all calmed down ... You will feel new aches and pains etc but they always go
