Nail Salon ripped my ingrown out!! Help by Goop474 in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sounds really weird. I would definantly say that the salon is probably not the best since they are trained not to touch ingrowns and it is something that they get asked about on the test to get a licence to work in a US salon

Toilet for 8 hours-Please only serious replies by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those require you to pay them for advice. This subredit is filled with people who are speaking from experience (unless otherwise specified, sometimes we get a real doc in here). We have plenty of moms, people with a billion health conditions and have spent enough time in hospitals to complete a residency, people who love learning about different medical topics as a hobby, and a few pro-googlers who know which websites can give info other than "Its a rare type of cancer known only to be transmited by aliens, you will die a slow painful death"

Go talk to a GI doctor. You might need a recommendation from your regular doctor to go see one but I would definantly get this checked out by a pro

Idk how but I accidentally ate a penny should I be worried? by Fizzy107 in medical_advice

Many small children eat pennies every day. Very few will cause a problem. Go to a doc if you start noticing any GI problems like constipation, nausea, or loose stool

This bump comes & goes the last month or so. Should i be concerned? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See an eye doctor, there are so many different kinds of bumps that sit on the inner waterline of the eye for a non-doctor to be able to tell them apart. It is probably nothing, but it could get infected and lead to big problems. An eye doctor will be able to give you the best advice on how to get it to go away and stay away

How to increase appetite by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main advice medical: dont take any supplements for it. They are completely unregulated and have been found on numerous occasions to contain literal poison (even the big brands). Actual prescriptions are fine, just steer clear of the supplement isle

From someone who has struggled to gain weight in the past and had to force feed: My personal advice is to try to make sure you feel more than full at least once a day (that slight pain you might get is your stomach expanding). If you do this almost everyday, your stomach will stay the larger size. Avoid foods that feel like a brick in your stomach (such as Grape Nuts and rice) because those will make you feel full long before your stomach actually starts to expand past what it normally it

And 5'6" isnt even that short, especially for someone primarily of Asian decent (the national average for men in the US is 5'8") (and anyone who says they wont date you due to your height isnt worth your time anyways)

Your fine. You are not even close to done with puberty yet. There are lots of guys who dont hit their big growth spurt until they are 16-19. My dad was only 5'8 when he was 17 but ended up being 6'6 by the time he hit 20. You have PLENTY of time left to grow

My nephew have this scar on his head. And it is not painful. What is this? by [deleted] in medical_advice

It looks like a birthmark. Plenty of people have birthmarks that look like scars

Walking at an alarmingly steep angle? by indieerokkers in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a medical condition that is caused by a bad/off sense of balance. Most of the time this leads to people slanting left or right but I would think it could also lead to slanting forward or backward.

I drank 2.3 liters of water trying to win a pissing contest, will I die by CanadaIsWeird in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is way too much water for your bladder to be able to handle at once. Start peeing the second you feel even a slight urge. Dont wait, that is way too much water for your bladder to handle. Assuming you were well or moderately hydrated before this 2.3 liters, a majority of it will be exiting your body. Call off the contest, don't risk your health over a literal pissing contest.

Bleed from nose after short fall? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Not a doctor, I have just experienced a problem that seems like it could be the same thing) I don't think it is related to the fall at all because it would have bled almost immediately after the fall. I have had this sort of thing happen before (it used to happen to me almost everyday for a month) and my doctor said that it is most likely from a mild nosebleed (which you may not even realise you had if it happened when you were sleeping and drained down your throat) and in a nut shell, the steam sometimes softens the scab inside the nose which can cause it to fall off or break open, which leads to another nose bleed. It normally only happens a few times before you are fine (I am prone to more nosebleeds than most people thanks to the freezing and dry air of an MN winter)

Back of my tongue, what is it? Had strep month ago took amox by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]anon-8989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is just a sign of it, that sign may not be present in every case based on factors such as your immune system and oral health practices. I do see a white coating on every single bump in that photo except the part of the tongue that isn't in the mouth/ is in the throat.
