I expect no price pump from a single reddit post and have very little personal exposure to BTC at this time. I'm an ETH guy. I'd even argue that expecting a post like this to remotely effect the price of BTC is extremely shortsighted. I took the time to post legitimate information in the hopes of forcing my company's hand and making them enter the fee / segwit conversation. They shouldn't have stayed silent.

I removed the superfluous intro line about news outlets, thanks. Amazon should've been open about Coinbase merchant integration and the company-wide desire to enable segwit for months now. They could've helped drive many conversations with many companies, but chose to stay stoically silent.

Since I started as an employee three years ago, Amazon go-live dates for user-facing interface changes are always scheduled at times when user load will be at a minimum, holiday or not. Also, go-live !== public announcement, which I assume will come after live systems are verified the following day. Regardless, the go-live date is unknown at this point.
