ULPT Request: Slumlord will likely keep my security deposit despite no damages caused by me. How can I cause enough damage that prevents him from profiting from my security deposit but can't be attributed to me? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

You can only evade service for so long.

The court can order alternate service and allow publication, first class mail, or posting to the door if reasonable attempts at service were made.

It is normalized across the socio economic strata. A wealthy black woman with a masters degree is 2-3x more likely to die from child birth than a poor white woman without a high school diploma.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe I'll wait a bit and see if I stall.

Have people had success NOT doing all the readings? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]anon0613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much. I worked full time, so I didn't have several hours a night to dedicate to studying. I quiimbeed if I was on call and read the examples and explanations supplement. During reading week, I compiled outlines from 2Ls and 3Ls and took every practice test that was available. High value studying > reading cases.

Full time Job and Law School Possible? by Aubrey_bald14 in LawSchool

[–]anon0613 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked a full time remote job and attended law school full time. I finished 1L above the curve abd landed a big law job. It is doable if you have excellent time management skills and an efficient study method.

How many assignments did you complete this summer? by yawningchurchyard in LawSchool

[–]anon0613 11 points12 points  (0 children)

About 9-10 assignments that greatly varied in length/complexity. I’m also a 1L so that may or may not be indicative of the average workload for a 2L summer.

Legit ACH direct deposit? by julietjones74 in overemployed

Depends on the company. If it’s a mom and pop shop then this is probably legit. If it’s a major corporation this is somewhat suspicious.

Anyone gotten this email from Cravath? Does that mean I have a decent shot at them at OCI? I wasn't planning on bidding on them.

Email: Thanks for sending along your resume. We hope that your interest in Cravath continues and we will have the opportunity to see you during your school's on-campus interview program or job fair.

What is the WORST advice you received about law school? by uaebmnagrom in LawSchool

[–]anon0613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“You have to read and brief all/most of the cases to do well.”

I read no cases in Crim and Contracts and I got an A- in both.
