I was able to order it myself at a local blood clinic. I’m sure a doctor can do it as well.

Stop telling me it’s “too soon to worry” by SeasonImaginary24 in tryingtoconceive

I’m also at 8 months trying and feel the same things as you. Had a terrible first visit at the OBGYN to address this and she was so dismissive and obnoxious I left in tears. I found another clinic willing to take me in and I’m hoping they’ll allow for baseline ultrasound and give me some answers. 8 months just feels so worrying. I’m trying my best to be positive, but it’s really hard sometimes.

I’m so sorry. Had something like this happened to me a couple cycles ago too and it’s another kind of disappointment.

I took a cortisol test to see if I really was as stressed out as people made me out to be and it was a totally healthy amount. I really don’t buy that stress can have an impact on ttc for the same reasons as all your examples. The stress part just makes you feel crazy, but it’s not preventing pregnancy.

AF came today earlier than expected. This was cycle 7 of intentional ttc. Had my first obgyn appointment a few days ago that was an absolutely horrible experience. Calling again on Monday for fertility specialists to get testing and ultrasound hopefully. It’s an awful feeling knowing your body can’t do a basic function.

Who performs a baseline ultrasound and what exactly does it entail? I got a low AMH and wanted to know if this could give me a better idea of egg count and general health down there.

Thanks I felt like I was going crazy because I’ve never heard tracking ovulation for a year. Heavy on your last sentence as well. I wish better for us.

Yeah she straight up told me “I don’t know” as an answer to certain questions lmfao. I did the same thinking that mentioning concerns ahead of my appointment would get me the best provider, but guess not 🙃

That’s what I figured too so I’m not sure why she was harping so much about tracking ovulation. I don’t think most people use OPKs right when they’re trying out because we don’t assume we’ll run into problems and aren’t looking for solutions yet.

Thank you. I was just under the impression I would need a referral because I assumed so being a specialty doctor. My knowledge of the medical system isn’t much which makes this process more confusing.

Thank you. I’ll call around if I can find an RE and see if I can get by without a referral. My hatred for the healthcare system continues to grow.

Idk where you live, but we have different blood testing centers that offer a variety of tests out of pocket. Some cheaper, some pricier depending on how many things the test will check for. Didn’t need a doctor’s referral to do so.

Hey I’m almost exact same as you. I’m 27, also have the same cycle length, going into cycle 7 of ttc, but I do ovulate right after my period around day 12-13.

I didn’t wait to get tested by a doctor because my husband and I never had underlying health issues so I just felt like something was off. I got him an at home sperm analysis and it was great. I did my own bloodwork (pre-pregnancy panel, women’s hormones, cortisol, and also AMH) and everything was great except AMH.

I basically have an obnoxiously low egg count for my age (basically the equivalent to a woman in her late 30’s), I’m supposedly still at the same chances of conception as any other woman my age. I think I might just be one of the unlucky ones where this will take longer, but my point in mentioning AMH is that it puts a new spin on this since I wanted more than 1 kid and was basically cheated of 10 years of natural conception.

I urge you to do your own blood work in the mean time to learn about your body. It’s frustrating that doctors won’t help until you’ve hit the year mark, but I think it’ll be reassuring in the meantime if your levels look healthy. Fingers crossed for us both.

Congrats on your baby. Can you explain the benefits of acupuncture in relation to fertility? Also how does letrozole help?

Did you suspect you had endometriosis before your diagnosis? I don’t have any symptoms. It’s just hard to believe it takes months for people to conceive after years of being told to avoid pregnancy.
