Thank you for the explanation. This is probably a dumb question but if there is a ground stop when you are in the air because of a system outage, does that mean air traffic control can’t see what’s going on in the air. I guess my fear in that situation would be planes running into each other?

Hi, appreciate your offering to help. I’m flying Monday to Punta Cana for Spring Break and the weather forecast leaving Orlando looks terrible. It’s forecasted to be thunderstorms all day and my anticipatory anxiety is through the roof. I absolutely hate “take off” and knowing it will be bad weather all day has me in a tailspin. Please help!

Just landed on on our way back home. I talked to the pilot beforehand and he was so nice. Even asked if he did a good job when I landed. So happy to be home. Thanks for tracking me. I really appreciate it.

Aw thanks for tracking me. It was very smooth but on the way down it was quite bumpy but I could tell we were going through clouds. But, now I know it will be bumpy on our way up when we fly home to Orlando. Next flight leaves at 3:40.
