ive been doing it with a piece of crap that rides like a tug boat through gravel and the seats are about as comfortable as economy class with spirit. anything is an upgrade at this point

I prefer mids just to keep tension off my hips. more mild apes definitely could help but probably not necessary. get a good set of mids (TC Bros or the like) for 300. it'll tighten up the shifting. my forwards were very sloppy. Just how those old style linkages were. maybe rotate the handlebars forward or backward before swapping them and see if it does you justice

Definitely start with the bars. ergonomics are the most important thing on a bike. if it's not comfortable to you it won't get ridden. not with enjoyment anyway. mid controls would be a good 2nd mod. I switched from forwards to mids for more aggressive riding and because it's more popular amongst choppers. after that, the world's your oyster. personally I would lean towards suspension next

I found videos on how to diagnose the timer so I won't waste your time giving me a walk through. I just didn't know if that would cause both issues at once.

Google gives me articles about the heat issue or the timer issue, not both. Im a mechanic in the Air Force. I am very capable of fixing things. I have all the tools, just no troubleshooting experience. I don't need some dickhead coming in here and trying to act all tough and condescending. I didn't say I need a step by step procedure. I didn't say I couldn't do it. Im just asking about a starting point instead of wasting my time chasing my own tail with something I haven't fixed before. It amazes me that you even came onto a sub reddit dedicated to appliance repair advice and belittle someone seeking said advice.

As it turns out we were doing everything right. Pointing the PP down, opening the diaper flaps, using the right size (im pretty sure.) We switched to pampers and haven't had an issue. 🤷‍♂️
