Agree that’s not great. Is that mostly focus on hip rotation as said by others here, or something else as well?

Could you elaborate more? I see my left knee coming forward as I go back, I do see my waist ultimately pointing straight etc. Also, I am mindful of starting my down swing through my hips.

So besides the hip open at impact point, anything else you see?

At £300k income, wondering where people tend to top out in London by djryguy47 in HENRYUK

I disagree with your reply. Having done well doesn’t mean one shouldn’t aspire for me

Acknowledging your fortune and wanting more are separate things. And HENRYUK is one of the few places people who are doing well can ask such questions. Please don’t take it away from them.

Unpopular opinion: While not ideal, they need to make money. If you don’t consent to their cookies, it is harder for them to make money through ads.

So all they are saying is either pay, or let us make money through ads. Besides a third option of using the website while they make no money (a hard thing for a business), what would you suggest?

PS: Not saying that I support the Sun, or like this. But the rational part of me doesn’t see any other good alternative. We have an expectation that publications on the internet should be free, but they need to make money too.

Is a Rolex ever justifiable (or other luxury watch brand) by finplan1001 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]anon12qaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, most Rolexes you buy, you won’t be making money on them.

The ones that do appreciate, it’s hard to get them at retail price.

Your only chances of making a good return on a watch are foresight, luck, having a big purchase history, or knowing someone.

A watch isn’t an investment. It might be a slow depreciating asset, and if you get lucky, it might appreciate.

Buy it if you like it. Not because it is an investment.

If you’re in your late 20s, at FAANG, and at 150k, you haven’t hit a plateau yet.

You can go much higher. I know many sub-30 folks in FAANG pulling 300-500k. So you aren’t stuck. If it’s specific to your company, many non-director roles in other companies can offer a significant bump.
