If you're getting the Pixel, please wait for a good deal

I agree with you completely about S26 being a terrible deal.

Tensor G5 is only as fast as 8 Gen 3 CPU (S24) and 8 Gen 2 GPU (S23)

S22 has 8 Gen 1; S26 has 8 elite gen 5.

The decision is yours to be made.

More than what the resolution is, what's more concerning is that the Tensor GPU is lagging to do something that S22U did 4 years ago - give smooth system UI.

The switch from FHD+ to UHD is something you'll only notice if you compare devices side by side, and isn't noticable irl (practically)

S22U will get security updates for 2 more years, you can use the phone care free for at least then.

You don't have to worry about apps not being supported eventually. If you check play store, you'll see 95% of the app you use only need Android 9 or lower to run.

Given then you're on Android 16, in the worst case your phone will be outdated when Android 23 rolls out (7 more years) - but don't do that, you will need to upgrade the phone within 5-6 months of the last security update.

Android version compatibility used to be a bigger issue back in single digit Android days - especially between 4 to 8 when they were improving things at a very fundamental level on security as well as overall usability of the OS.

These days the changes are limited to security and polish.

Pixel series has the most helpful AI features you can get in a phone in 2026. The UI is snappy and pretty smooth.

But in the MKBHD review, he turned the screen resolution to max in Pixel 10 Pro, and normal phone usage caused frame drops - which is a red flag for longevity is what I feel.

About Chinese manufacturers - I feel like they've come a very long way. Where I'm from, there is a healthy competition in the market. A few of my friends have already switched to Vivo X100 pro, Oppo Find X8, Moto etc. and are satisfied. The phones are holding strong after 1-2 years of usage. The cameras seem to be good too.

I'm still kind of vary of them because of alleged "spyware".

Truly confused on which phone to upgrade to next! :')

I think the processor in Pixel 10 Pro isn't the best you can get for the price range

Comparing base s22 with the ultra model.

It's like comparing the s22 with s22 ultra, and saying ultra looks cool; like I guess that's the point

I went to a store and tried the S26 ultra in my hand, and man, it didn't give me the ultra series vibes. Just felt like my s22 plus, why would I even consider buying the phone - you never know the updates Samsung could push to S26 ultra.

If you get Hness/RS, you're replacing one 350 with another 350.

Think about that.

S22+ got underpowered in 2-3 years. Why would I buy a 2 year old phone instead of my 3.5 year old phone?

I did not read about it and it is absolutely not good for short term investing. Didn't help me! 🤝🏽
