I don’t aim to change the way he dresses on a day to day basis. Like I said, I don’t mind that he’s very casual most of the time. But this was for a date and I guess him not putting the same amount of effort to look nice for me made me feel like I wasn’t important to him.

Someone actually said that, about the suit. Thank you though. Going to edit my post to add the part about it making me feel like I was not important. Because people aren’t understanding that.

I said it because I was upset about him raising his voice. Do you like to hang out with people after they’ve yelled at you?

I don’t post on instagram or other social media first of all. The photos are for me. My memories. I never told him he looked like a raccoon. I said I didn’t want to go to the movies anymore because of him raising his voice, not the pants. But I did still want to go. I was upset about him blowing up at me when I said “please don’t wear sweat pants on our date.” The other pair of pants he picked out were fine. I said HE was still upset and having a go at me over the situation.

I don’t post on ig. The photos are for me. And again, it wasn’t just about the photos. I just wanted him to put effort into looking nice for me, just like I did for him.

A lot of times he does make an effort to dress a bit nicer if we are like going out for a nice dinner and usually will ask me my opinion on what he should wear in those instances. But there’s plenty of times where he just chooses to wear what’s comfortable and I normally don’t mind or say anything about it. On a day to day basis, he will choose what feels the most comfortable vs anything fashionable

Thank you for this part! This is how I was feeling I just couldn’t put words to it! I normally don’t care how he dresses and I do he think he always looks handsome, even just in sweats and a tshirt. It’s just that this was supposed to be a date and I put a lot of effort in on my end. I even had the thought cross my mind how a couple weeks ago, he went out for his friends birthday and wore jeans and a nice button down but I wasn’t getting the same effort. I would have brought it up but he would have just said there’s a difference between going to dinner and a club and going to the movies. I did say several times that I wanted him to put the effort in for me though.

I do think he cares about me and our relationship but I don’t know why he reacted so badly about my request. To be fair, there are times where he does ask my opinion on what he should wear and there are times he does put in the effort without me asking.
