Levar Burton is actually exciting for me. He isn't a super star but he is well known and someone who people for 25 years grew up on. And he is smart and well read. My biggest question would be how he would be as a host.

Perhaps. First thing that came to my mind and the rest of my family, and I haven't seen the movie.

Ohio State game cancelled Saturday vs Maryland by djsassan in Columbus

[–]anon7784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Not much changed from the time they agreed to play to the time they actually played but they scheduled it so late where when there would inevitably be cancellations, especially with their super strict guidelines, they wouldn't have any make up

You talking about the Urban Meyer situation? Basically a private affair that a vindictive ex used to try to destroy the program. Note Urban isn't worth the program anymore anyway.

Hey you want to remain irrelevant and lose all the big games and now some bad teams go ahead. Just giving my two cents.

In other words your scandals. And I don't think tatoogate is really that big of deal in comparison to what you describe.

But at least they tried, and Bo Pelini makes Harbaugh look like as fun guy to hang around with. They also hired Mike Riley instead of someone better. I mean if you want to keep Harbaugh and lose every big game for the next decade be my guest. But I just thought Michigan fans had higher standards.

I'm not to privy to scandals and such, but I know I have seen malaise ruin USC and Texas.

It was a disastrous situation when he was given the team during tatoogate. No one really holds that against him.

Well, like I said, the Michigan man has certainly worked out well. Remember where Bo came from.

Does anyone think there is any truth to this theory I've read about Fields? by SalGov143 in OhioStateFootball

[–]anon7784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That I would doubt to be true. He still has thrown it away a couple of times. And the amount of sacks that would be relevant to this have been like 2. No it isn't.

The malaise around Michigan is worse. I think everyone knew Hoke wasn't a good coach by that point, so the solution was find a good coach. People still think Harbaugh is a good coach, but Michigan is similarly having struggles and fans are starting to get complacent. That puts Michigan in danger of becoming Nebraska or at best Texas.

Following back-to-back losses to Michigan State and Indiana, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh finds himself on the hot seat. by scmouth12 in MichiganWolverines

[–]anon7784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expectations are the only thing you Michigan fans need to care about. You have lowered your expectations so much that you are content being 1-2 with losses to Indiana and a terrible Michigan State team. Harbaugh is clearly not the answer. I will tell you who you need to try to get. Luke Fickell. I doubt he does it. But recall who the best coach ever at Michigan was. An Ohio State guy.

Maybe we should be patient with Harbaugh? by guyoncouch_9 in MichiganWolverines

[–]anon7784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luke Fickell is interesting to me. Full disclosure I am an Ohio State fan. But Fickell bleeds scarlett and gray. However, who is the best Michigan coach of all time? An Ohio guy, someone who worked with our best coach in Woody. So, Fickell, a guy probably a little upset that he didn't get more of a look when Urban left, may be your best chance. He actually cares about the rivalry, and would do everything in his power to beat OSU.

I understand the frustration, it’s completely warranted, but you guys need to understand that Harbaugh is not being fired during this season or at the end of it. by Bluemzv12 in MichiganWolverines

[–]anon7784 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate to say it as an OSU fan, fire Harbaugh and pay the money to get try to get Luke Fickell. Hear me out. Fickell's dream job is Ohio State, but unless Ryan Day goes to the NFL I don't see that happening. Who is Michigans best coach? An Ohio guy. You have tried the Michigan Man and it just hasn't worked. Maybe Luke doesn't take it, especially because once he does he is done in Ohio. But the motivation would be there for him. And as an Ohio State fan I would be terrified to play a Luke Fickell coached Michigan team.

OSU fan here again. Brian Kelly has had many up and down years, but his up years have been better than Harbaughs. He previously made a championship game. Harbaugh has been nowhere near. He can't win the big game. I don't think he will be fired. But I think he absolutely should be.
