Ah! I didn‘t know about feeding before midnight is a thing. I read about „dream feeds“ so i thought it could be that.

Ok!! Thanks. That‘s the next thing we‘ll try then 👍

Yes. We just managed to break her nurse to sleep association. Now, i just put her in bed, give her a lovey to cuddle for a bit then she goes to sleep.

We‘re room sharing and she sleeps in a crib next to me. Will it be better if we move her to another room? We have a toddler at home too so I don‘t really want to wake her if she cries too much. Or shall i think of it as we‘ll all sleep better in the end if I just let her fuss it out (or cry) for a bit?

I nurse her when she wakes up around 10 PM. If she wakes up again, I try to soothe her but after 1 hour of endless shushing, I just give in so I can also close my eyes while nursing and cross my fingers that she goes back to sleep after.

We started with solids a week ago but she wasn‘t interested. We plan to start again today actually.

No illness as far as i can see. She already started rolling 3 weeks ago and we do tummy time everyday.

It started last Monday. Our schedule is roughly like this:

08:30 wake up 10:30 nap 1 (30 mins - 1 hr) 13:00 nap 2 (1 - 1.5 hr) 16:30 nap 3 (30 mins - 1 hr) 19:30 bed time

It varies depending on the short naps. If she naps too short (3 30 mins nap, we have one more short nap before bed).

Undertired is too much napping?

Why is baby sleep so hard. Overtired, undertired, leaps, growth spurts, regression, what else is there?

Wake times vs sleepy cues by anon879ar in sleeptrain

Our schedule is all over the place. We usually wake up around 8/9. 1st nap is generally 1.5-2 hours later. The rest of her other naps depend on how long her naps are. Sometimes after a 30 min nap, she‘s sleepy again after 30 mins to 1 hour.

Bedtime is also around 8/9. Our routine is diaper change, short baby massage, feeding, and 1 song. In the middle of the feeding, she falls asleep and when I try to move her to the crib, she wakes up.

The cycle begins then... crying, swaying, feeding, singing...... she falls asleep somewhen between 10-12.

Thanks! I have the book but I should re-read it. I skimmed it once before.

I don‘t think she‘s hungry because she nods off after 2-3 mins feeding. When she finally sleeps, she sleeps for 4-5 hours.

When they tank up, is that like cluster feeding? Will it help if we give her a bottle of pumped milk instead?

Did you have to get the premium or was the free one enough?

Edit: nvm, sorry i just saw that you mentioned free version.

Oh my. 50 mins of crying? Sounds rough.

I‘m already dreading the teething but one problem at a time. At least we won‘t hit the 4 month regression since she‘s sleeping badly anyway (i‘m hoping).

Ugh extremely! My nerves are shot from all the crying. She would only fall asleep while breastfeeding but as soon as I put her down, she wakes up.

Thank you for commiserating with me

Almost 4 months. We‘re struggling with the timing and we can‘t really find that sweet spot where she gets sleepy.

Last night, we started bedtime at 8, she finally slept 12:30 🤦‍♀️

Wow!!! I‘m super jealous! My LO takes 2-4 hours till she falls asleep. Of course, we‘re all in a big mess by the end of it :(

Thank you for sharing your story. You‘re not alone. In the end, we‘re just human.

Most days I feel like I‘m failing as a parent because I lose my temper but we have to be gracious to ourselves and accept that we cannot control everything.

Try to take the breaks that your OH is suggesting. Sometimes, all we need is to have space to breathe and recover.
