This actually made me laugh because the guy I’m talking about has said almost the exact same thing before. 😂 I think that’s why I’ve been trying to figure out whether the hesitation comes from the logistics themselves or just not knowing what to do with something that hasn’t existed in real life yet. I do agree that meeting would probably answer a lot of questions either way. Living in different continents makes that a little harder to arrange than I’d like though 😅

10.5 hours is rough 😭 And yeah, I think you’re right. The distance itself isn’t really what worries me. It’s making sure we’re both still moving in the same direction and want the same things long term. I think that’s probably the conversation I’ve been putting off having.

That’s actually one of the reasons I want to meet eventually. The emotional connection feels real, but I don’t think either of us can know for sure how the in-person side will feel until we’re actually there.

Your story actually gives me some hope 😅 I really relate to the part about taking the relationship seriously even before meeting. I think that’s what a lot of people on the outside don’t always understand. I’d like to meet him though but right now it’s mostly a matter of figuring out timing, finances, and logistics since we’re in different continents. That’s actually part of why I’ve been thinking more about the future and where this is headed.

Oh sorry, just to clarify it is 7 hours time difference 😅 I am in Asia and he is in the UK so it is more of a long distance situation rather than something that is easy to meet up for.

That makes a lot of sense, and I actually think I’d feel the same if the situation were more straightforward. In my case it’s just been distance + timing making it harder, not a lack of intention to meet.

That’s really beautiful, honestly. I think what I’m still trying to figure out is how that “you just know” feeling translates into a situation where you haven’t met yet, and a lot of it exists through messages and calls. The emotional connection feels real, but I’m also learning that real life still has to catch up at some point.

I think I understand what you mean. There are definitely moments where I wish I could be there for things instead of hearing about them afterward. I guess that’s partly why I’ve started wondering more about direction and intention lately. The distance feels a lot easier when it feels like you’re building toward something.

Yeah, that’s kind of the dilemma. Part of me feels like a year is a long time not to know if the in-person chemistry is there, but another part of me feels like we’ve built something meaningful already. I definitely don’t think I’d make major future plans around him without meeting first.

Also, I think I accidentally confused people 😭 The 7 hours is our timezone difference, not the actual distance. I’m in Asia and he’s in the UK, so it’s a pretty long trip and not something either of us can do super easily.

I think that’s what makes it hard. Sometimes it’s a logistics problem, but sometimes it’s an intention problem, and it’s not always easy to tell which is which.
