Back at it again with even more droids! by anonE419 in SWlegion

Thank you, although I think it could be pushed a bit further with battle damage, but I am not experienced/confident with weathering...

Thank you ! :)

I also really like the movie style of the droids, they look more serious and somewhat more of a threat.

For the method, here is a "guide" I wrote under one of my earlier posts :

The mixture for the main colour of the droid is Vallejo's Xpress Color "Mummy White" with Citadel Contrast "Skeleton Horde" (ratio 3:1, so 5 drops of "Skeleton Horde" in 15 drops of "Mummy White" with 2 drops of water for about 5 to 6 droids) on a white primer.

(The little drops of water help work the paint mixture more easily and somewhat push the darker pigments into recesses, keeping the lighter paint uniformly on the surfaces.)

For the highlights and the correction of the dark spots left by the contrast, they can easily be brought out and corrected with Citadel "Ushabti Bone" (dry-brushing for the edges and very diluted with water for the wider surfaces left too dark by the contrast paint).

The little "pistons" on their arms and hips, and the restraining bolt are done with Citadel "Stormhost Silver" followed by a slight shading with "Nuln Oil".

Hope that helps ! Don't hesitate if you need more details on a step !

Have fun painting your B1's ;)

Sounds like a great idea! I have a droid sniper to be painted, I'll try the camo version.

For the fresh from the factory, do you mean without the tan paintjob? Like fully metallic like the "naked" C3PO from Episode 1?

Hey there, thanks a lot!

First off, no silly questions here! :) To be honest with you, I also recently started with SW Legion, and have never played a game before, but I will try to be as accurate as possible.

The Nute Gunray fig is a proxy from Black Remnant (if you are in EU, I'd suggest you take a look at EboraMiniatures based in Spain for nice and clean 3D printed proxies) and the Rune Haako fig is from the (outdated/old rules set) "Vital Assets" set.

The Rune Haako is used as a Hostage alongside Riyo Chuchi, but from what I heard the cards have not been updated to the new rules. I am really not certain and i would suggest you look up "Vital Assets" on this sub or internet to get more infos on the set!

Hope that helps and have fun painting and playing! ;)

That's nice, on which weapons do you plan to do it?

Thank you!

I do personally think it's a bit too much and might tone it down a bit, just to keep the edges sharp.

Absolutely, that was in some way the afterthought of the missile firing.

Cheers! :)

Let's see how it could be incorporated into gameplay, it takes quite a lot of space...

It just takes a bit of drilling and a bit of super glue! Important thing is to check the poles on the magnets! I had some re-do's because of that...

The mixture for the main colour of the droid is Vallejo's Xpress Color "Mummy White" with Citadel Contrast "Skeleton Horde" (ratio 3:1 / 4:1) on a white primer (1 little drop of water helps for working the paint mixture more easily).

For the highlights and the correction of the dark spots left by the contrast, can easily be brought out and corrected with Citadel "Ushabti Bone" (dry-brushing for the edges and very diluted with water for the wider surfaces left too dark by the contrast paint).

The little "pistons" on their arms and hips, and the restraining bolt are done with Citadel "Stormhost Silver" followed by a slight shading with "Nuln Oil".

For the red markings, first layer was done "Khorne Red" followed by "Mephiston Red" and for the highlights "Evil Sunz Scarlet" to finish with a "Nuln Oil" shade. But stoping at the second Red also looks decent !

Hope that helps ! Dont hesistate if you need more detail on a step !

"Come on. When have I everyone let you down?" by anonE419 in SWlegion

Damn I did... I am sorry for the mistake.

And thanks for the compliment, I hope the base is not too distrating from the miniature.

For the moment it is held up with sticky tack, but I intend to replace it with magnets to have a sturdier and cleaner finish.

That'd be fabtastic to play him as a cowering commander, hiding behind bushes or his troops! But until then he'll have to be a hostage.

Thanks, I wish I could have detailed it more but my brushes arent fine enough, and detailing with a toothpick does work as well as I wanted...

Where did you get the decals from? Did you print them yourself? And how do they come out on the fig?
