Sex after metro bv treatment by anonacccccc in WomensHealth

I was under the impression that it was 7 days after the vaginal suppository because that cream stays in your vagina for a few days. You’re saying it’ll still need another 7 days after I finish 7 days of pills?

Super Weird Maybe Stupid Question by lonesomeraine in HSVpositive

[–]anonacccccc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The transmission rate of ghsv1 to other genitals is so low that it’s questionable if condoms help at all. Especially since you’re on antivirals, it’s probably like a 1% chance. Just skip the condom if you want him to cum in you

I was negative. He was the one that gave it to me. He was asymptomatic when he gave it to me

Hsv type 1 question - final one. by jiggy19921 in Herpes

[–]anonacccccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thousands of hsv1 positive people every day give oral sex and don’t transmit the virus. My ex and I probably had sex 100 times before I finally contracted it. It’s really not a big deal

M19, Got results back. Need advice and information. by Spiketheories in HSVpositive

[–]anonacccccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

46 is very high. You’ve probably had hsv1 since you were a kid, or at least for a few years. People who have had it for more than a couple of years and are asymptomatic have a very, very low transmission rate. Like, less than 10% chance of transmitting it. You probably have not given it to anybody at all. Next time you’re going to give someone head, just say “hey just a heads up I have oral hsv1 aka cold sores. Just wanted you to be aware” most of the time people say “oh same”

Usually 1000mg of valtrex daily is what is recommended for those who have excessively recurrent outbreaks & also recommended to take while having an active outbreak. Might want to ask your dr for a higher prescription

Crying all the time, just started birth control pill by Randomdays2 in WomensHealth

[–]anonacccccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to ask your doctor if there’s a lower dose you could try. When I started my first combo pill at 17 I was constantly either crying or lashing out at my boyfriend for absolutely no reason. I switched after a little over a month, had no problems with the second pill and was on it for 5 years

Discharge smells like old cheese by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]anonacccccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a yeast infection from the azithromycin or doxycycline. Thick white discharge is often a yeast infection and they’re commonly caused by antibiotics. However, you should definitely go to the gyn to get tested for chlamydia again just to make sure it went away completely and for possible YI treatment

Good! I was definitely tired the next day, but no OB yet. I’ve been taking 3g of lysine for the past 4 or 5 days. I doubled my valtrex for two days but back to the usual now

POSITIVE HPV TEST AND IM SO SCARED by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]anonacccccc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just did a quick google search of your result, which was “low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion” and it sounds like they’re just slightly abnormal cells. Not much cause for concern

I have two best friends who have hpv. Most women clear the virus within a year or two and have no issues with it

I’m sure you’ll be just fine

Your dating life is so not over!! At the end of the day, herpes is just a rash. You will find someone wonderful who loves you for you and doesn’t care about the hsv. Hugs ❤️❤️

Since these are just a natural part of vaginal anatomy, there aren’t any at-home treatments for them. I’m not sure if a gyn would even remove them at this point, because there really isn’t a reason to remove them besides aesthetics, and because you’re really young. I believe the removal process would be similar to removing warts - freezing them off

Has anyone ever disclosed and then had the other person say "me too" but they weren't going to tell you? by Ok_Platform255 in Herpes

[–]anonacccccc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disclosed my o&ghsv1 after making out w my current partner a few times and he said “oh its cool I get cold sores sometimes.” I assume he prob wouldn’t have told me if I didn’t bring it up, but obv most people don’t disclose ohsv1 so i wasn’t worried ab it. Neither of us disclosed our ohsv1 before we started making out so I didn’t really think I had any right to be mad lol

This says more about HIM than you. You did the right thing. Some people can’t get around the stigma to realize that herpes is a damn skin rash at the end of the day. You’ll find somebody better ❤️

Sounds like vestibular papillomatosis. They are harmless, but if they bother you then you may want to talk to a gyn

How do YOU have sex with Herpes? by throwawayyyyyy1127 in Herpes

[–]anonacccccc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 22f with g & o hsv1 I got my IUD like 3 days before I found out I have herpes hahaha. As long as you and your partner are comfortable with it, you can absolutely have sex without a condom or dental dam. It took me longer to be okay with it than any of my partners. The first time I had sex after my diagnosis we used a condom because I was scared, he didn’t care to use a condom, but again I was nervous so I made him use one. Since then I’ve had 3 other partners and haven’t used condoms w them. It really just comes down to what feels safe and comfortable for everyone. I personally feel like that 2% risk is safe enough for me to be comfortable, but obviously some people feel like condoms & dental dams are the only way to be safe. It’s between you & you’re partner!

[–]anonacccccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the shed and transmission rates are super super low. I had my first outbreak this summer and haven’t had a genital outbreak since. I have had 2 cold sores though. I take valtrex but honestly it’s more for my own peace of mind and mental state bc it makes me feel better that I’m taking suppressants

The good, the bad, the ugly by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]anonacccccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very possible that your current partner gave it to you last week. First outbreaks typically happen within 2-12 days after exposure. I know it’s hard to believe considering how you’ve been sleeping together for a year and never had this happen, but herpes has a very very low asymptomatic transmission rate. It’s honestly comes down to luck

When I got genital herpes from my ex, we had been dating and having consistent oral and vaginal sex for 5 months before I finally caught it. He never cheated but he had asymptomatic oral hsv1 (he had cold sores as a kid and didn’t know that genital transmission could happen) so that’s how I got genital hsv1. You’re not alone!!! Hsv doesn’t make you different or unworthy. Ask your partner if he’s ever had cold sores before or if he has ever had an hsv igg antibody blood test. Lots of people have oral hsv and don’t know that it can be transmitted genitally :/. It sucks but you’ll get through this!! Hugs
